My family does celebrate the commercial version, with a few elders actually believing in Jesus, but as far as I'm involved it's just a family gathering with some gift giving. I don't partake in the exchange of gifts, but I do like spending time with family. Unfortunately, we kind of stopped a couple of years ago after the matriarch, my maternal grandmother, died. It has the highest number of suicides, it causes a lot of debt, it creates spoiled children, it puts stress on parents, and it gives people a cult-like mentally.
