Played the PSP remake over ten years ago and didnt enjoy it. The game was horribly unbalanced, many classes were useless and their skills were boring to use, and the text was far too tiny for the screen. Among other issues that plagued an otherwise cool game. The remake overhauls the class system. Every class is useful (it feels more like FFT in this sense now), and skills are easier and more fun to use. Archers dont own the game now. You can speed up battles. Curscenes are how voiced with excellent VAs. The game looks great for a remaster of an SNES game. This is a game that I really wanted to love on the PSP but just couldnt. This version fixes almost every issue I can recall. Feels really good to finally get to enjoy this game. This and the Star Ocean 2 remake really fixed some pretty flawed PSP remasters of older games. Weird to say, but still. --- ORAS secret base: http://imgur.com/V9nAVrd 3DS friend code: 0173-1465-1236 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have the Steam Version of the LUCT Remake Remaster and I have to agree, it's my preferred version of all of them. (Excluding Mods) My only gripe is the removal of random battles. While you can still do training battles against NPCs in a handful of maps, the variety compared to the PSP Remake is much lower now. We are expected to spend more time in the dungeon maps, but that makes it more repetitive cuz those were already played a lot to farm the high level gear, it was nice to do random battles with a larger variety of maps to choose from. --- RTX 4080 - 7800X3D - LFII 360mm - Enthoo 719/Luxe 2 + 7 140mm ARGB Fans - B650EF - 850w + Plat - 120 Inch Epson 5050UB + 77 Inch S90C OLED ... i want this on Steam so bad. i need to get through some more of my backlog before I shell out for it though. but i might just end up getting it during the Winter Sale if it gets a deep enough discount. it's been ages since i've played it, but i used to be absolutely obsessed with it. i'd still consider it the hands down best TRPG ever made. --- R.I.P. For Sure, the 12 VS 18 Battles will always outshine even the most tactical FFT Battles for me. I just personally love seeing so many units in an SRPG battlefield (but still having RPG like control (So its not an RTS). You can send little squads to different parts of the map which makes it really fun and engaging, it's a different type of strategy, and Tactics Ogre still has a lot of maps where its like 8 vs 8 so not every battle has to be some major skirmish with 30 Units, some can be more typical FFT Like and focused on smaller team strategies. FFTs biggest hindrance was its limited battle party size, I mean techincally it has the same size as some JRPGs. Final Fantasy IV has a Max Party of 5 . --- RTX 4080 - 7800X3D - LFII 360mm - Enthoo 719/Luxe 2 + 7 140mm ARGB Fans - B650EF - 850w + Plat - 120 Inch Epson 5050UB + 77 Inch S90C OLED ... ^exactly. the 5 unit cap in FFT was just too small. the battles didn't feel epic ever. and personally i think the story in TO is waaaay better. the political intrigue is handled much more maturely. i'm a complete sucker for political intrigue in fantasy settings. --- R.I.P. No its not, sorry. The PSP version is the better game. The only unbalance is archery hits more than it should. You could field a party of dragoons with crossbows and 1 healer and roll the game. It swung the other way in that auto boss cards and union level puts up major road blocks for advancement. The Hektor fight is a good example of this. You have a choke point up the stairs, so any melee unit you field will be stuck there for awhile. Ok lets put some archers on the left take out the guys in front of the boss. Pretty sure they are mages. Well doesnt take long and your archers are gone and the Terror knights have obliterated the choke point. Here comes mr Hektor with his big bad boss cards and hes level 22 (i think) You are 19 and that means you have the level 1 finisher he has the lvl 2. He has a double attack that hits singlely for 400-500. Your HP is around 500 at this point. Say goodbye to the remaining units. I put 500 hours in the PSP version. I know the game in and out. Got all the titles too. I love the game just not Reborn. Btw it took 10 tries to clear that one battle --- I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. Not a skill issue. I can go though both POTD and San Bronsa with no deaths. It was pure luck. The issue is #1 map configuration. Range or Mage classes can plink at him but they have to get right up against that wall thats put you in range of everybody. Any melee that makes it through the "gauntlet" to confront him directly is met with a double dose of a finisher. That battle was the only one that had this issue. Theres a major disadvantage in what is supposed to be a mid game story battle. I had no problem beating it on the PSP version. So what changed? I rest my case. It's a artifical difficulty to stonewall people who have played the game before. It's poorly implemented. Now mind you that doesnt mean I hated my playthrough of Reborn. I find the changes were not needed and that in turn gave you less freedom. I'm someone who loves the game. I havent touched it since release and stopped just before the finish. A game should be enjoyable not a chore. --- I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me- ... Copied to Clipboard!
