Hey Guys, after like 5 months of having my crappy computer be crappy on me, I managed to finally find a solution to my woes and I can stream again! if you wanna hang out with ol pal Punny, this topic will be bumped whenever I go live!

for the record, the solution was a Pci thing. It feels like.. an official ghetto thing. Works better than an Ethernet to USB adapter, that thing sucked

Ehrgeiz is a surprisingly ambitious game. Its a PS1 arena fighter and its a joint venture with Namco and Square

They tried to create a fighter with its own systems, but I feel like it doesn't quite work. And none of it is explained either, AND the game has "Stuff" to it. Like apparently theres a sword you have to build while you're going through arcade mode? I have no idea how to get all of the pieces

The endings may or may not be unlocked by fighting a super boss DURING THE CREDITS. We have never figured out if this is true or not

apparently one of the characters has multiple endings and you have to get all of his stuff in the game to unlock it

The funny thing is, I think FFVII being guest characters hurt the game. Its the only thing people remember this for. Its a blessing and a curse.

Now. The game has a quest mode, with original characters separate from the cast. Its an RPG dungeon crawler, complete with stats, gear, and even a food/hunger system. I got addicted to it and played it on stream for a few hours. I then eventually died before I saved LOL so it all got lost

but we are gonna come back to this, I'm gonna do a stream with just this mode in the future

we are now on floor 14 of the game out of 20. We spent a long time grinding the characters and bought the second and third best equipment in the game. I think we'll beat the game next time we stream it

I beat Ehrgeiz

where do I EVEN START

first and foremost. The ending of the game. Theres a 3 boss rush, after the 2nd one, your character drops dead. You have to go with your second character and continue the journey. After you beat the final boss, you get a phoenix down. You have to approach your dead friend's body and you decide whether you want to use it or not.

In my game....THE BODY DISAPPEARED. So I couldn't even do the ending and had to reset

THEN it turns out once you do all of that, the ending ...IS JUST TEXT.

BUUUUUUUUUUT

Its bad text. Each character has an ending. They use it or they don't. 4 endings. ALL of them make it apparent the journey was null and void and none of it mattered. If you use the Phoenix Down, your friend revives but you literally just used the artifact you were fighting for this whole time. and the portal to this dimension closes and so you can't go back and research further.

If you do not use the Down, your friend is dead and the portal closes anyways and you can't really prove anythijng anyways. Theres a slight variation, the guy regrets not using it on the girl in this ending. The girl doesn't give the guy a second thought and is actually happy she has it and just moves on with her life.

The thing is, EACH ENDING COULD"VE LITERALLY USED A FEW MORE LINES. Especially the one where you use the Down."Then they became friends" or "they got married" or whatever, literally ANYTHING.

This was a pure NES text ending, but on the damn PS1. but even then, FF1 had a more satisfying ending.

IT EVEN DID THE SAME THING of making your journey null and void since you destroyed the time loop. But ...they included lines like Garland never had a falling out and hes happy in the kingdom, and that even though no one remembers the journey, YOU do, and that makes it worth while.

I has always thought This RPG mode was a side project of someone who couldn't get it greenlit and they just shoved it into ehrgeiz. It had alot of warts on it that could have been fixed if they spent more time on it or resources. Its a shame, cause it was fun too.

Ehrgeiz failed to reach its potential too.
This was an ARENA FIGHTER on the PS1. We didn't know what that was back then but looking back, thats super ambitious. The game, though it looks like Tekken, doesn't play like it and has its own systems and stuff to it. But the thing is...no one ever bothered to learn this game LOL

Do you know why? The FFVII stuff. People only played it for that and dropped it after like an hour or so. The funny thing is, it DID bring in the crowds, but the wrong kind. Not the kind that would be interested in learning a new fighter.and now its the only thing people remember it for. "That FF PS1 fighting game" is how I heard it referred to many times while I streamed. its a shame

I'm typing here with my comp, it can handle normal browsing (haven't tried games yet)

but yea I can't stream. SMRPG was the last stream of the year. good game to go out on at least but I was hoping I could make some money while I was here. Ugh.

I think my computer has weak USB ports, but is that a thing? It can handle most stuff but the aforementioned wifi thing doesn't work when I try to stream and back then the ethernet to usb barely worked too

Bruh - I was at the arcade last night going for a 'low credit' Simpsons arcade run. Got to the end of the 3rd stage on 1 quarter w/100 KOs (as Marge), then the coin slot jammed and I was unable to continue, lol. Probably my best start ever.

Yes its a power failure thing, when my fathers dog was a puppy he ripped a cord out fast killing the usb port power

I know most of yall know this story by now but we are going to review

in 2024, around the summer, my phone randomly breaks and soon after that, twitch logged me out of my account FOR NO REASON, and only will let me back in if I go through 2SV, sending a code to my phone. OOPS

so I find a work around, OBS, my streaming software, did not require 2SV, so bam, I can stream while still being locked out of my account. I did this for awhile but then the ethernet port of my computer stopped working. so with Twitch, one of the ways I make money, stripped from me, I could no longer earn money to get a phone. This goes on for months.

Then late November, a small miracle happens and I get my computer fixed up with another ethernet port and I can stream again. however in the middle off December, I had go out to my brother's place for not only christmas, but to babysit my niece for a few weeks. The idea was I was going to be streaming over there.

Unfortunately my brother cut a massive corner with his internet. He doesn't have standard internet, he has this modem thing that basically creates a huge hotspot at his house. This modem has NO connections other than the power, so I could not put my ethernet cord into it. I then buy a wifi adapter for my computer, but either the USBs are bad or the hotspot internet is bad, so I could not stream this way, the internet just dies. So for the past month I have not been streaming and earning money

finally heres the thing

I'm back home and now I'm ready to start streaming, right?

..NOW OBS is asking for 2SV. It wants to send a code to my phone which I haven't had it in like 8 months

so we are now back at square one. UGHHHH FUCK MAN

it really feels like someone is observing my life and just keeps pushing me back down when I try to get back up. all of this feels so calculated and deliberate

I know I have received more than generous donations, especially from you guys, but I held off buying a phone because the IRL stuff I have going on. I am so far behind on everything since I lost my twitch streaming all of those months. Yes, I relied on the money I make from it. I surprisingly make enough from it, that is, combined with all of my other ventures

And sure enough, I DID end up needing that money for various things and bills. A phone was just simply not in the equation. I was wanting to buy a phone for around $100-200 and then go to Mintmobile. I could just simply could not get that going

but like I said, we are back to where we started. I need a phone to make money but I need money to get a phone. Like, for fucking christ sake, dude. If I had been able to work the past month, this wouldn't have happened. My bro has that shitty internet modem thing. I'm not blaming HIM, but its like, OF COURSE that happened, ya know? My bad luck is so incredibly bad, it never fails

so long story short, I am out of streaming again. I keep losing the ability to stream for random bullshit reasons

and I am out AGAIN, I was only back for a month

so yup, fucking great

okay so I managed to do THINGS and I got money for a phone and a mobile plan. It might take a week or so to get that going, and then once I get that done and get a phone, it'll take another week or so to change my number on my twitch account as thats standard fare for the process

barring nothing really horrible happens to me, we are on the road to recovery
