No. One easy present-day argument, only slightly facetious, is that if god exists and god is good, Trump would have been smited by now.

I believe in some kind of higher power, even if it's a super advanced processor from some long forgotten computer nerd.

I think it is far more likely that some form of intelligent life exists that is so far beyond us that would be likened unto a god rather than "A God", if that names sense.

I say I'm athiest only because trying to explain to people my views are hard to to understand. I believe buddism has the right idea. How you live your life in this one will reflect what happens in the next. So I lead a good life . I'm also a deterin mist meaning I believe your life is set out before you. When the time comes you will be given choices the right ones leads to a better next life. I also pull some Daoism ideals too. There is no use fighting upstream is one I liked. It makes me wonder what it's all for. What is the ultimate ending. I dont believe the Judeo-Christian beliefs is it.

This is how I came to think about it over the years.

I do believe there is "something". Like, how did our reality even start before things like the big bang. The organisms humanity evolved from, those organisms also had to start somewhere.

I was raised Christian, but more along the lines of what Jesus actually stood for. Not the manipulative and scheming side that's prevalent today. When there was a change in leadership in my church, it switched from a genuine caring and helpful church to a money grubbing mockery... I dropped out.

I've since distanced myself from religion in general, but I'd say I'm still pretty spiritual despite that. I do believe there is some type of god out there, whether it's a conscious entity or just the energy of the universe that made us, I don't know, and really don't think it makes a difference which it would be.

I feel people should be free to interpret their lives and the meaning it has own their own terms. Choose a religion if you want, if it fits your beliefs or makes you comfortable with life and death. Or don't, and just live your life how you want. Just, be kind and compassionate to each other, you know? It's not that hard.

These are also mine in a nutshell as well. Try to do good for all in order to do well for yourself. I very much have a utilitarian mannerism, volunteering quite a bit actually. I feel that a lot of Church politics, especially mainstream, ruin spirituality in a lot of ways and have festered far too long in governmental political entities. I also feel people use religion as a tool to divide and harm others to serve their own perceived self righteousness and interests (oftentimes with a poor view of themselves and tone deaf to hypocritical actions). I have a hard time grasping that that is the intent of what a god, should it exist, wants people to do with their faith. Its counterintuitive to the purpose of faith that I believe is to be a driving force for uplifting and supporting each other.

Yup yuppp, same exact experience here in Houston, I don't go much at all, but have met with and interacted with them more than a handful of times whether it be meeting someone at random or working with them for an event or fundraiser

But I feel like this universe as a whole doesn't make sense... something came out of nothing at some point , so I am inclined to believe we are in a simulation and if that's the case then by default there's some sort of higher power that is responsible, directly or indirectly, for our creation.

No, not really. Do we even need a god, though? We've done pretty well for ourselves for the last several hundred thousands of years without a god. Heck, the dinosaurs lasted for millions of years until they got unlucky and blown up by a big rock. Then you the nigh infinite universe with it's nigh infinite stars and planets with the possibility of countless life on those places.

Capital-G "God"? Not only do I not believe it but I'm 100% certain it doesn't exist, on account of it being the most illogical self-contradictory concept ever conceived by humans. Is there some kind of "higher power"? I guess I'm agnostic.

Nope. I'm no scientist but I have watched my share of Kursgeshtat videos in my time and one thing is extremely clear from those snapshots of reality.

We humans know basically nothing about the fabric of reality.

The notion that we understand what lies above our reality (if anything) is pretty darn arrogant.

I was closer to atheism when I was younger but the more you dwell on reality the more you realize that mindset is just as dumb as the religious mindset. Maybe there's something, maybe there isn't. Either way it doesn't really matter to us creatures of Earth, we have the here and now and nothing more.

Atheist is just what you are when you fail to believe in any god/higher power. It's not a dogmatic belief.

Do I believe in higher beings of power, of course. (not like deities or gods though. more like higher dimensions of being.

Humanity has become addicted to doubt, they refuse to believe anything without mountains of evidence, and even than they find false reasons to disprove it.
I think Humans are too simple to understand the complexities of the univres and life after death and so they would rather doubt that which they can not understand.

We dont believe in aliens because we never saw one, even though the universe is a zillion lightyears and expanding faster than we can catch up. We live in a universe where giant balls of energy like suns exist, yet cant fathom the possibility other intelligent life exists except for us, not only is that arrogant and selfish , but also very ignorant.

I think there are too many things we will never comprehend or understand because our brains don't have the capacity to, but not because they don't exist.

Of course that does not apply to everything.
