I love a fried egg sandwich with ham but from a personal standpoint even before I had to give up gluten I was never a fan of Rye bread. The only time I could really tolerate it and just barely is on my beloved Reuben sandwich.

But there is nothing inherently wrong with Rye. I just don't like it. Solid meal though.

lol thank you!

it was really fucking good, the best breakfast sandwich i've had in a good long while, but i did break one of the yolks and even the one that you see running in the photo was slightly overcooked, so i only gave it a 9 myself.

and this was taken with my new refurbished Google Pixel 7 Pro i got on Cyber Monday. the camera on this thing is amazing. waaaayyyy better than my $80 Walmart LG piece of shit i had before.

i loooooove rye bread! but yeah i switch it up when it comes to breakfast sandwiches. i also really like to do them on large sized bakery counter onion bagels. and homemade buttermilk biscuits, and seed and nut wheat bread, etc. sometimes just whatever bread i happen to have lying around needing to be used up.

I love an onion bagel. I like bagels in general but damn I love me a good onion bagel. Sometimes I would make like ham and turkey deli sandwiches with sliced tomato and lettuce/cheese on that onion bagel. Delicious. Before my food issues one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches to do at times was a ham, cheese, and fried egg sandwich on toasted English muffins and on one side of the English muffin along with butter I would coat one side in cream cheese and one side in peanut butter.

It is two toppings I love and peanut butter getting warm and melting into eggs with runny yolk was such a great combo and then the cream cheese on the other side would just set it off perfect. I really miss that.

But yeah I could go bagel, I could go English muffin, I could go biscuit, and at times I could just go with toasted sandwich bread. It was all so good and I would bounce all around.

8/10 because of the American cheese.

Try flamengo or maarsdam cheese if you can find them.

They are amazing. And I know this is about fried eggs for breakfast but are you really saying no to an egg salad sandwich? Blasphemy. That is top tier stuff there.

Anything but rye, lol. It often contains caraway seeds and I'm not a fan of that taste.

You might try the Manchego?
https://www.aldi.us/products/dairy-eggs/cheese/detail/ps/p/emporium-selection-manchego-and-gruyere/

And mix it with Swiss.
https://www.aldi.us/products/dairy-eggs/cheese/detail/ps/p/happy-farms-deli-sliced-swiss-cheese/

The two combined are a lot like Maasdammer.

never been a fan of hot sauce on egg sandwiches, or breakfast foods in general. i recognize that as a legitimate usage of it though.
