This comes following the resignation of Canada's Finance Minister Christia Freeland after she had a dispute with Trudeau over tariffs.

It's Trudeauver

To be fair, Castro Jr should resign. Dude's been an albatross for the Libs up north for at least five years.

Edit: maybe only 4 years.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

But who will replace him? Pierre? That guys a walking talking nightmare waiting to happen. He hasn't done a thing while in his current position and yet somehow he managed to become the leader of the conservative party. All he does it complain about Trudeaus policies while offering no actual policies of his own. Singh isn't any better, and no other party makes any form of effort to actually take the leadership seriously.

Don't get it twisted, Trudeaus awful. But no matter who gets into the PM position, we're screwed.

That honestly scares me. All the guy has done the past few months is complain about Trudeau. Which I get it, Trudeau is awful, but Pierre hasn't offered a single suggestion on how we should change things, only that he's going to change things.

As bad as America looks right now for reacting Trump it does feel like Democracies around the world have given up on leadership and just going with those who tell them what they want to hear, social media broke the planet damn it.

Trudeau should have resigned a year ago, Right now he is just a lead weight around the Liberal's necks and a gift to the conservative party(Who if elected WILL make everything worse), I would like to see the NDP win power but i doubt that will happen anytime soon

But ya, Liberal's need to replace Trudeau asap so the new Liberal leader can hopefully try to rehabilitate there image to reduce the chances of us getting a conservative Super majority

Any chance we have of keeping the Conservatives out of office hinges on Trudeau resigning, the sooner the better. He flatly refuses though.

Sadly that's how I look at Pierre. He may be the best thing for the country, but when you yap yap yap all I think of is that this guy will be another Trump and get us into deeper trouble than its worth. I mean, we need proper change, but not at the cost of our sanity. What scares me the most is that during one of his speeches he mentioned getting the military back to where it was. Canada military was never really a priority of the country. It's there to deter and help out when needed, but it really shouldn't be the focus of any form of speech. Once it becomes a focus then you start moving funds towards that instead of to the places that absolutely need it most.

Poliviere absolutely is NOT the best thing for the country unless you hate LGBTQ, especially the T part, hate the truth and love the idea of putting restrictions on abortion as well as gut safety nets and healthcare.

Not to mention how pro-corporate he is.

I don't know much about his policies, only that he's spent the past 4 months complaining about Trudeau and briefly mentioning the military and axing the carbon tax.

NDP's chances died back with Layton. It's a 2 party race and people are sick of Trudeau. It's gonna be PP unless the Liberals can get rid of him and even then it's probably too late.

Because he's trying to make the election entirely about Trudeau and contorts himself into a pretzel to turn any question he's asked into being about Trudeau or about the carbon tax.

Reminder regarding the carbon tax, the rebate you get from it is likely higher than what it actually costs you. Poliviere doesn't like to talk about that though just like he and the rest of the Conservatives voted against giving a GST holiday for x-mas, you know that regressive tax that mainly hurts the lower and middle income people? He's the most fake MFer in the government as well, constantly railing against career politicians when he himself has only ever worked in politics his entire adult life.

A vote for Poliviere is a vote for less money in your wallet and more corporate handouts.

I really wanted to see what Jack Layton could have done with the party. The orange crush was real. The first NDP vote to win Quebec. RIP to a GOAT. Too bad Jagmeet Singh has no chance of winning anything. The only thing we can hope is that the strong opposition party can keep the conservatives to a minority government, because PP is a diet Trump.

Trudeau didn't want Chrystia Freeland (same person who told us to cancel our Disney Plus subs cause of high costs) as our Finance Minister any more cause of a disagreement regarding tariffs. He wanted to reassign her somewhere else and she felt sleighted and resigned.

He is only saying what he needs to say to the group he is with. He was against deportation and rallied to halt people from getting them. He was against the carbon tax. When the gst vote to be removed permanently, he voted no. No, he didn't want anyone to call his bluff. He started screaming that losing the tax would be revenue loss along with inflation increase. So he knows his slogan was bad but he couldn't say axe the rebate.

Now he's all about illegal deportation and border control because of Trump.

He voted against worker's right and wanted to motion a bill that is union busting.

He's a career politician that has been bought off a long time ago.

The reality is that if it is Jagmeet Singh and the NDP who basically force the issue with a Non-Confidence Motion, they MIGHT be able to have enough seats to ensure that the Cons get a minority government moving forward.

NDP know who they are nationally. They are usually the third place national party unless someone fucks up HUGE and then they sneak into second for a little while. However, being third place in a minority government actually gives them a lot of leverage, since they would hold a lot of power to throw out Non-Confidence Motions.

Regardless of what Trudeau does the Cons are gonna win the next election. If he drops maybe there's a chance of a conservative minority but it feels like the libs are about as done as the cons were after Harper got ousted.

There are too many people who need a scapegoat for their shitty lives and the cons provide immigrants and trans as a meaty target.

Thing is, historically a new leader has actually done a fantastic job of reinvigorating parties in Canada or tearing them down, all depends on who they replace Trudeau with.

If they go with Trudeau 2.0 or just as bad go with a pseudo-Conservative leader who talks about "moving to the center where Canadians are" then it's going to pretty much ensure a Con majority.

Also the Liberals need to do a DAMN better job making clear that the Cons are lying their asses off about the carbon tax. You'd think for every time the Cons say "Axe the tax" you'd have a Liberal bringing up the carbon tax rebate that the average low and middle income Canadian gets from it. But nope, it's mostly silence. Doesn't help when Cons are interviewed they get zero push back from the media about their stances.

Canada seems like what we were in 2015 which means when Trudeau gets knocked out of government Canadian MAGA will rise and the greed and general stupidity of the populace will see them lose many freedoms and programs as they funnel that money to the rich and powerful I want to imagine that Canada doesn't have a well oiled propaganda network for the right wing but apparently they don't need one, America's propaganda seems to be enough to gain a following in that country

you guys are in trouble, big trouble especially if the theory is true and the right wing aiming for power in that country are bankrolled by the same people bankrolling America's politicians
