He has flaws ... but isn't that a good thing? Treat him as a equal? I loved Apu as a character and I do miss him in the newer seasons, but it also doesn't feel like it should be my call whether or not his portrayal was offensive. It does feel petty and spiteful that he's the only non-white character they refused to recast, though. The problem is who is the one that gets to decide if a character should be removed: The part of the group that felt offended or the the part of the group that liked it?
