Imagine being dumb enough to have six fucking kids. Also, I see a lot of premade stuff on there, learn to make your own food from scratch.

Not clicking a twitter link but I see "seasoned waffle cut fries" on that list so I'm wondering if everything on there is really *necessary*. But maybe that's because we try to avoid unhealthy stuff like that as much as possible.

Anyway TJ's is still a great economic option for many goods and they have stuff other stores don't have but it's not a one stop shop for sure. We have the blessing of being able to go to the Commissary for most everything else.

450 for a family of 6/7 is really not that much. Unless thats every few days.

If they learned how to cook it would be a lot cheaper.

This kind of shopping has been untenable for most people for decades now anyway. It's just finally out of reach for those who were previously unaffected and is therefore now a Big Problem.

3.08 per meal, if theres three meals a day

If I had that many people to feed Id probably only shop at Costco.

Doesnt seem unreasonable. Assuming this also includes the parents thats 10 or 11 days of food for 8 people, that comes out to $5.05-5.55/day per person

Jokes on you, TC. I shop at Dollar General since their store brand of Clover Valley is surprisingly good for being so cheap. I also dont have any children other than my dogs whom I need to buy a new bag of dog food for now that Im thinking about it.

I wouldn't buy so much chicken and cheese tamales though and soup dumplings. Then again it sounds like basic brew and still cost that much. Bad choices in general. It doesn't say how big the pizzas were.

Dont shop in an extremely wealthy area, or choose a cheaper store.

Speaking of rice, I got an entire ice cream bucket full of white rice that despite me using it to feed my dogs when they have an upset stomach, there isnt anything wrong with it stopping me from cooking some up for myself. Definitely one of the more versatile foods out there alongside the likes of the humble potato if you ask me.

I'm not even saying that. But it's a mischaracterization of what groceries would look like for 6 kids.

I'm wondering how they can possibly maneuver a 7-8 person vehicle in the TJ parking lot. Every single one I've seen is impossibly tight. I've heard they get special zoning variances to allow that.

frozen shit is the way to go (80% of my dinners is cooked from frozen meat).

also to note: alot of money to feed family. cost me 200-250$ to eat somewhat healthy (could go less if i skipped out on the popcorn, sparkling water, protein yogurt and taco nights).

Also fwiw this list of groceries is not terrible, plenty of decently health stuff in here, organic veggies, etc

Without coupons/coupons.com, shopkicks, ibotta, cash back deals, etc.; then yea it'll be bad. Could probably cut $100 off with savvier shopping.

Frozen stuff is fine imo. Especially things like fruits and veggies and meat. But frozen meals/snacks can be expensive. Especially when it comes to the kids snacks

My fam of 4 is about $300 a week and we do a combo of Walmart and Aldi, so that seems about right

For six kids including himself and the wife. That's not bad. Could be much cheaper if he buys more raw ingredients and cooks it.

I like how everyone sees 6 kids which means a family of 7 at the minimum and the go to is "Oh they don't know how to cook" instead of "Oh they have 6 kids they don't have time to cook when stay at home parents basically aren't a thing anymore"
