I have a nephew who will be military age very soon. I'm kinda worried for him. Trump acts like he is going to declare 4 simultaneous invasions

Greenland
Mexico
Canada
Panama

POTUS doesn't declare war. Congress does. The draft would be disastrous for state elections.

Well considering invading Greenland would trigger the EU's defense pact, yeah going to war with all of Europe would require considerable manpower.

Not only in this scenario would bring drafts back but he'd lower the age requirement to bring everyone regardless of age in the military.

One problem with the draft is that you will get people who will turn their guns immediately on whoever handed them those guns in retaliation for being drafted.

They'd need a crap ton of willing participants for that they likely dont have. On top of this thats not a very smart thing to do in a country like the US.

Want to remind people that anyone here under 35 is still liable for the draft. 18 to 26 is just the age all men are required to register.

I'm confident I'm not the only under 35 but over 26.

But being realistic, if the draft was seriously reinstated, and we got to a point one was actually needed... being too old won't save us.
