The main character is a boring, white meat, meek, weak willed, bland girl, but the main dude, the blonde girl and the other guys might be enough to overcome the main girl's "I WANNA CHANGE" thing BS that really does nothing for me with these kinds of characters. They gave her some bullies right off the bat so her blandness makes sense. This is played as a drama. If it was a comedy, it'd probably be insufferable and I'd drop it. I'll give it a few more episodes I think. The first half of the ep was all edutainment stuff that made me remember all the anatomy and physiology classes I took in college. I was somehow able to follow it despite veering into Star Trek levels of word salad -> common explanation for dummies. The show started to pop off when the main lead was out of the hospital and doing weird crime/mystery stuff with her stiff dork subordinate and yelling at her uncle. A lot of the dialogue and characters are lackluster. But there is something that speaks to me as a customer service person seeing this lady just bitching about people screwing up her day by being shit at their adventuring job. Some dumbass even pulled the "Don't you know who I am card" on her, and she's just like, "JUST SHOW ME YOUR FUCKING CARD ALREADY!" I'm all for this as long as the show has enough Clerks moments. I remember the reception being kind of mixed but I pretty much liked and understood all the choices being made. I was completely fine with the first one being a recap of the original series and the other three becoming increasingly crazy. My only real complaint is that Mary is here with basically no explicit feedback (I think it's implied ~~she was the first Eva pilot or something?
