They could be more compassionate and having creator abilities and more knowledge and immortality.

In my story God feels remorse for all the worst things since he technically created everything. He just didnt know that the universe would be this bad, because when he was the only person he didnt know what anything was

Cool. Do you have his origin story of where he came from, what that place is, etc.? Or was he always just there? Timeless and inescapable? What is he exactly? Is he tangible? Or some kind of magic being?

He abruptly gained consciousness in a black void, was bored, so he decided to entertain himself. He didnt know it was gonna to so horribly. Hes a magical being. He can be killed, but he respawns.

In my story he shit out his evil and selfish qualities into a being called the Demiurge. Here is God and the Demiurge

So many.

Flooding the world, striking down human cooperation just because they were building a big tower, but perhaps on a most visceral level interfering with Pharaoh's free will just so I could justify a yet deadlier plague on Egypt.

That last one largely because humanity attributes so many bad things to the mere existence of free will, but here's a bad thing occurring because I explicitly chose to harden Pharaoh's heart against letting my people go.

There's a lot to choose from, but probably how badly I bungled the spreading of my message/faith. Continuously sending prophets to the same tiny square of desert and nowhere else, allowing numerous conflicting faiths to spread and never clarifying, failing to provide any evidence beyond a series of inconsistent and contradictory texts, etc., to the point that I'm condemning the majority of souls that have ever lived to unending torture.

Not to mention one of the most popular stories out there like Noah's Ark.

We can just ignore how illogical that story is for a second and how improbable that proposed "chance" was to save themselves..... Because there's just way too much to unpack in mythical story of Noah's Ark.

The answer is yes. Giving someone a "chance" to avoid you choosing to slaughter them all doesn't change you chose to slaughter them all if they don't meet your arbritary demands.

What would you do if the vulnerable good were being oppressed by a mightier evil, but you had the power to stop it?

he gave them a chance to save themselves. Thats not really genocide. He didnt ask anything of them other than to be good.
