Took a melatonin last night

Lately, grinding the new season in Mortal Kombat 1. It helps.

same as always. shrug and get by in spite of the bs. I'm used to things not going my way.

Playing guitar always centers me, and makes me feel happy.

Focus on my kids, my wife, my job, my fitness, and my hobbies. Stuff I have some control over.

Get a day off from work, grab a drink, and play video games. I may not be able to afford any of those in about a year anyway.

By just focusing on what I've already been doing with my life and telling myself that his bullshit won't affect Cali.

I'm only trying to focus on things of actual importance. Not "he's a felon, liar rapist" while all true, not worth wondering about.

Lots of flood the zone shit happening so I'm only doing deep dives on the most important issues like the 14th Amendment EO.

If you watch the news 24/7 and rage at everything he does you will be left scarred. Remember, I know Trump is significantly worse and more deranged than Biden but the right pretty much melted down for 4 years when the situation wasn't that dire and man they looked rough.

Focus on the most important issues and anything less, keep an eye on if you want but if it's not consequential it isn't worth our time.

All sides of the mainstream media bank on us going "is Elon a nazi?" And no actual conversation takes place. They want us to debate and rip ourselves apart over it. When in reality all the conversation needs to be is "yes he is, can we please get some work done on the economy?"

But if you are totally drained, focus on your family, hobbies art. That can help you get through some tough times. Even if it's just as simple as putting on an album you find comfort in, do it.

Stop watching the news/posting on CE all the time, and do a hobby

The same way I've survived my life, extreme disassociation and escapism. It can't weigh on my mind if it's not here.

I do a lot of charity work with underprivileged groups in my community. If you genuinely feel hopeless I recommend helping those that are in a much worse place than you to put things in perspective.

It's also giving me a weird sense of "am I in a bubble" dissonance, like collective gaslighting on a massive scale.

CE is probably my single biggest source of American culture. If I believed CE was how America felt about stuff, then I'm left to wonder how any of this happened. Surely only 1 in a hundred people voted for trump, and we all laugh at that guy, right?

As worried as I should be, I've hit this weird zen point of knowing both that I'm safe where I'm at right now and that I can't do anything to stop what's happening.

Honestly like have lost all motivation to engage with people, don't want to deal with people at work, don't care about schoolwork. I am afraid to fall asleep because every time I wake up I am left wondering if I'm in this reality or what's going on.

It's all really overwhelming.

A lot of you arent going to like hearing this, but Ive just been living my life the way I always have. Just keep on keepin on. Ive learned to accept that theres nothing I can do about most things, so theres no point in getting myself upset over something I cant do anything about.

Plus, Ive got my own stressors and issues Im trying to fix that absolutely no one gives a shit about lmao so once Ive got that under control (likely never, unfortunately, because the job market fucking sucks), maybe then I can start worrying about other things.

Just doing my best to make life as not-terrible as possible.
