All those noms for a French musical where they self admitted to being unable to find any Mexicans for the movie taking place in Mexico and had Selena Gomez sing Spanish so horrible I needed subtitles to know what she was saying even though I can fucking speak the language. Now an ordinary film about race relations would have the viewer deduce that it's because our main character doesn't want to fall into the pitfalls and stereotypes and shit. What Green Book does is to have the two of them proceed to bond when white man Viggo teaches him how to eat fried chicken. Movie's classic white savior dogshit and it's no surprise Spike Lee walked out when it won just like Luca Guadagnino did when Emilia Perez won Best Musical/comedy at the Golden globes. Oh, and ignoring how it takes liberties with the actual pianist's life in question where he never felt alienated from other African Americans and the family actually spoke out about this, Mahershala Ali's story would have been way more interesting through his eyes than those of his stupid driver nobody gives a fuck about.
