As a trans woman, I don't think I can. It is hard knowing that the majority of my fellow citizens voted for me to suffer, either because they fell for propaganda about egg prices or they acitvely wanted me to suffer.

No. Even without intellectualizing or moralizing, Trump is so disgusting that he should viscerally repulse anyone with his childish and vindictive demeanor. Any man who could unironically say he has done more for religion than anyone can go fuck themselves quite frankly.

Sure. After five consecutive election cycles in which anyone purporting to have remorse about Trump votes straight-ticket D in every general election.

I call it the "help clean up after your own fucking mess" theory of political redemption.

Without that, fuck them all forever, and I hope their vicious god exists and thinks the same way.

Isn't it weird how Trump insulted McCain's sacrifice and Republicans didn't care? My former friend even still repeated the lie that Repubs care about veterans. I never liked McCain, but I always admired he had the courage to sacrifice himself for his friends until they were released. I don't know if I could do something like that.

He also corrected a woman who tried to say Obama was an Arab in a bad way. Trump is so far from that decency. How anyone can't appreciate the difference is beyond me. It really proved to me America is made up of mostly ignorant people with no taste or ability to discriminate character.

I think it's because recognizing that Trump is evil would be having to admit so many men in their lives are evil. And it's so much easier to believe men are just like that than they were born into shitty circumstances.

I really don't think I can forgive anyone who voted for him in 2020 or 2024, no. Especially the latter.

He was crystal clear about who he was going after, and he offered absolutely nothing to anyone aside from raw hatred. No plans and no coherent policies to improve anything, just a lot of "I'll make the people that you don't like go away." As a gay person, I'm included in the groups that he promised to make go away, so it's pretty hard to forgive anyone who backed him.

Mostly this. People often vote for the Party the rest of their family does, so 2016 was forgivable...but after 4 years of Trump, it is apparent how criminal and evil he was. Thankfully the country woke up and rejected him in 2020. Yet, in 2024, enough people voted for him or at least not enough voted for Harris over (ultimately) petty reasons we all have to suffer through this nightmare again... Wonder if future elections will be a thing by the end of his term.

As an Australian, nope. I'm very acutely aware of the geopolitical shit that's about to hit the fan because of Trump, some of it might fuck my nation but even if it doesn't it's going to hurt a LOT of people across the globe (hundreds of millions, possibly billions).

They voted in and are still openly supporting and making excuses for a literal Nazi (Elon Musk). I'm of the "absolute and literal zero tolerance for Nazis and Nazi-sympathizers" camp. The amount of people who died to stop that evil... Yeah, no.

There's a reason I'm working on my fitness with serious determination nowadays. Those voters (of which we have, unfortunately, far too many like-minded types in Australia) will likely become active and real threats within the next decade or two as the world falls apart.

This. For example I have one coworker from Nepal. Speaks limited English. Has earned citizenship and was excited to be voting for the first time. I really dont think he has a strong understanding of American politics or everything Trump represents. He voted Trump because his family told him he was good for business. Hes doesnt understand that his citizenship status may not matter to this administration. I dont hate him I feel sorry for him. I feel even sorrier for his brother, whose English is even worse and seems to have some mental disability. From what Ive heard he was at Walmart last week and some douchbag told him ICE was coming for him and he said I know. Ice cold. I dont know if he voted.

No, never.

As a black person, it was bad enough people voted for him in 2016 when he had a history of being racist against blacks. But accepting that most of America is "I'm not racist, but...." I was willing to look the other way and just assume people were stupid.

But in 2020, Trump had done a laundry list of horrible things including but not limited to his handling of Covid, and then Jan 6.

Trump is a TERRORIST who is probably responsible for more deaths than a failed Art Student from Germany.

If you didn't vote for Harris, it means you're okay with all the horrible things Trump has done, and all the horrible things he will do.

I will NEVER forgive that.

Problem is that if there is no hope of forgiveness or unification going forward, Republicans might as well rule unopposed until the end of our lifetimes. Seeing the Democratic infighting has to be euphoric for them.

I get the anger for now, but I hope people can forgive down the line when it matters again.

**** you!

I work everyday with a "Harris hasn't earned my vote" far left liberal.

In the office it's just the two of us. I need him in order to do my job well. So I'm cordial to him, I'm polite to him, I will have small talk and laugh with him... but he is not my friend, and I will never forgive him for how he voted.

Trump is a racist who is activily trying to strip away civil rights that my parents and grandparents fought and died for, it is unfair to ask me to just say "all is forgiven" to people who in 2024 sided with a racist over a black person. That is an unreasonable thing to ask of me, PERIOD!

BUT unlike the "Harris hasn't earned my vote" liberals, I'm an adult, to defeat the greater evil I will work with the lesser evil... but for me the lesser evil are those who claim to dislike Trump but wouldn't vote Harris.

Unification is impossible in this country. The only way to unify the country is if a good 50% of the countries population dies. Maybe even more.
