I've been following the whole mess with this streamer called Johnny Somali. This guy is the most fascinating human trainwreck I've seen since Chris-chan. He goes to other countries and acts like the most obnoxious shithead, and unsurprisingly gets beat up and kicked out. But his latest round of shenanigans was in North Korea, and this was an exceptionally poor choice. Instead of kicking him out, they're not letting him leave, and he's been on trial for his crimes with it looking like he'll be facing at least five years in a foreign prison. And no one's shedding a tear for him. The internet is pretty united in thinking this prick's gotta go. Like, he's the human equivalent of playing a story-based game and always picking the worst possible dialogue options because you wanna see how badly things can possibly end. Anyone else would be terrified, but he just doubles down. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Copied to Clipboard!

We've finally started having temperatures in the 70s again. Man, you have no idea how much I've been needing those. In a few days, it's gonna get up to 77. On that day, I'm gonna take another walk down to that physical game store. Browsing the shelves of a game/book store is an experience I sorely miss. The start of Spring is something I've begun anticipating like a kid anticipates the start of summer vacation. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Been playing this game called Eastward. Admittedly, I only got it because it has an expansion where you run a farm, and I've been chasing that farm game high since I got burnt out on Stardew, with little success. But, since you have to get the main game to get access to it, I figured I'd play that first. It's pretty damn good. There's loads of skilled pixel art everywhere you look, the soundtrack is fantastic, the characters are expressive, the writing is excellent, and both playable characters have their own skill sets that serve different purposes. There's even this game-within-a-game in the form of a JRPG styled after the very early Dragon Quest games. The story is well-paced, making sure no elements overstay their welcome. You get a small town to wander around in, but after certain story missions, you leave to a new town (which unfortunately means any hidden items or side quests you miss are gone for good). Sometimes characters can get a bit overly chatty when I want to move on to actual gameplay, though. The main character is a skilled cook, and the same frying pan he uses to bash monsters is also the same one he cooks with. You make these meals by combining various ingredient types, then this slot machine interface pops up with slots you manually stop by pressing a button. Getting at least two matching symbols increases the healing potency of that meal, but the slots move pretty fast. I'm really curious as to what the developers have worked on in the past. This is the only game the studio has made so far, but there's way too much skill put into this to be their first job. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Got back from the gym and found that my front door was hanging open since I either didn't lock it properly or the lock didn't work properly. That was about a good two hours our apartment was open and unguarded. Thankfully, no thieves came by. High 70s today, so I did what I said I was gonna do and went to that game store. A Cybertruck drove past on my way there, and it surprisingly wasn't vandalized. The game store was right next to a Sheetz, so I got a sub before I went shopping. I got the PS5 version of A Plague Tale: Innocence, and the PS4 version of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Alright, now that I've had some rest, here's a summary of our trip yesterday: - We arrived about 40 minutes before a prolonged rain. The brief pre-rain period was nice, and even when it started raining, it didn't do much to dampen the spirits of the St. Patrick's Day celebration. Luckily, we thought ahead and brought hoodies and umbrellas. - The city was right on the boundary between Ohio and Kentucky. We tried walking on the suspension bridge connecting them, but there were some damn near hurricane level winds. We drove across it and explored Kentucky for a bit. - I chose to wear my running shoes since my feet were a bit sore from the walking I did a couple days ago, which turned out to be a mistake since parts of the city sidewalk had smooth marble tiles that were also being rained on. No falling on my ass, but I did slip a couple times and had to be cautious on downward slopes. - We had lunch at this high-end Mexican restaurant. I had two chicken bacon ranch tacos and some shared nachos. It kept us surprisingly filled, because we weren't really all that hungry when we got home at 11. - Unfortunately, because we arrived hours before the show and the rain was nonstop, we had to spend even more hours sitting in the car. Thankfully, the new phone my dad got me has better battery life than my old one. - My brother found a parking garage that was closer to the theater and paid $15 to get in, but he didn't find out until he got in that it only allows for three-hour parking. It didn't say anything about this on the outside, so he got ripped off. - Joe was hilarious. Apparently Impractical Jokers is popular in prisons (no idea if prisoners have control over the TVs), and a tow truck driver he needed was a former convict who watched IJ during his five year sentence. - Because my brother spent so much, I offered to buy dinner, but because of us not being very hungry when we got home, we changed that to breakfast. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Decided to start a new character in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel since I got the collection. I chose Nisha since her ability is essentially a temporary aimbot and reload speed buff, and one of her skills gives you a second copy of any handgun so you can dual-wield. It works amazingly well with laser beam weapons since they have a lot of recoil. Playing it reminds of the issues I had with the early 2010s BL games. Low drop rates, slow XP gain, and it feels like I'm just barely missing loads of shots, even with aim assist off. The XP gain feels particularly annoying after BL3 had it faster paced (to the point they eventually allowed you to make a max-level character after beating the story once). The real cool skills are near the bottom of the skill tree, so you have to get to about level 20 before you start seeing real change. Since they changed the golden key code system to have one code apply to every game, years of entering codes has given me a mountain of keys, so every couple of levels, I can spend about a dozen to load up on purple-tier gear. If I get three purple guns of the same type, I can put them into the grinder for a potential legendary. They should really bring the grinder back in future games. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I started up my PS3 for the first time since 2019 so I could port over my original BL Pre-sequel character. Man, all the memories I made with that old-timer... last time I really used it, it was to play through Arkham Origins. This was also the day that FiM released its finale. I watched it while Origins was paused and cried when it was over. I definitely suffered from depression for a couple weeks afterward, not helped by my grandma passing a couple months earlier. Of course, a cartoon ending is small potatoes compared to the misery I'd go through a few years later. Boy... Murr is WAY more unhinged than Joe was. In a good way, though. He got three random audience members to give him their phones and texted crazy shit to their friends. After leaving their friends baffled for about ten minutes, he video called them live. He has a really young brother-in-law, like eight at the oldest. He recorded an awkward voice message after Murr's mom passed, and one of Murr's friends kept bringing it up and making fun of it, so he had his brother-in-law record another message directed at the friend. I never expected to hear an elementary school kid say "Heard you been talking shit about me", but I'm glad I did! My brother paid for a meet-and-greet backstage after the show. Jesus fuck, the final boss of Eastward is awful. You're on a small platform and have to hit a bunch of projectiles away with your melee weapon, then hit the boss with a fully charged swing. But if you take too many hits, the boss recharges its barrier before you can finish charging. There is ZERO margin for error. I went through several cycles of getting blasted and stonewalled before I just rage quit and watched the ending on youtube. It was such an amazing game up to that point, then it just kicks you in the balls with an absurd difficulty spike. Complete BS, man. Even with the fantastical elements, it doesn't really make sense why you getting hit would give the boss a faster charging shield. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Sal's show was great. His opener was the same guy as Joe's, so that was mildly repetitive to sit through again. A guy a couple seats down from us got the opportunity to go on stage and propose to his girlfriend. She said yes! Sal had some interesting things happen around his second kid's birth. One was him being alone at home for the first time in a while (sure his was was still recovering) and deciding to impulse order a machete for home defense. His wife found out about it after she got home and was against it. After discussing multiple alternative options, she settled on a boomerang. The farming expansion for Eastward is really good, though it does fall off towards the end. If it were more expansive, it could be one of the greats. It's definitely a good entry point into the farming game genre since it simplifies some things. The axe breaks both trees and rocks, the watering can is unlimited and you can move while using it, your companion instantly plants seeds after you till a tile, and your gardening gloves let you harvest multiple tiles at once when they're upgraded. There's also no alternate seasons, so any crop can be grown at any time. Mining is done via this mini game where you control a bomb-dropping drone through a grid. Destroying tiles with items in them builds up a combo meter, and getting a high enough combo increases the size of your bombs' explosions. There's also these gas pockets that make a good size explosion when bombed, so there's some strategy where you wanna try and hit them with the edge of your explosion so the both of them can get the most ground covered from one bomb. Time doesn't pass while you do it, so upgrading your bomb capacity enough can make for a really long session. The main character's cooking skills still play a big part. Cooked meals recover a lot of stamina, sell for a good amount, some people will request certain dishes, and you can invite people over to dinner to get certain perks. There's way more ingredients, and getting a new one will let you put together new dishes with that ingredient in your head. It only falls off because there's really nothing to do once the plot's over. Sure, there's visitors to serve dishes to to get new crops, but there's several days between visits (which the game helpfully warns you of, including what they'll want), so now I'm just getting up, feeding my animals and letting them out, and going back to sleep until someone arrives. Still, it and the base game are worth a buy. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Copied to Clipboard!

It warms my heart to see the Snow White remake failing so spectacularly. Every decision they made was so boneheaded that it's an insult to actual boneheads. Instead, the kids are swarming to the Minecraft movie, and they're apparently going seven flavors of apeshit over it. Bet DStone is glad he's not working in a theater anymore, because I'm sure they're leaving apocalyptic messes behind. On a side note, I'd highly recommend watching Animation vs. Minecraft. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I, too, am glad Snow White 2025 is tanking. Disney needs to learn its lesson. --- This space no longer matters, huh? ... Yeah, it no longer matters. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Been doing another rebinge of Sentai stuff on Shout's live YT vids, in part cause I'm double checking on character and area appearances, even cases where it's archive footage (Flashback or clipshow). --- Amalgam Universe resident Born in 82. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I visited that massage therapist again for my shoulders. After we were done, I bought a gift certificate for my brother. I slipped it into my back pocket and at some point without me noticing, THE FUCKING THING BLEW OUT. -__________- --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ... Fuck... the massage left my upper back sore and I have a headache on top of my head, which is apparently something that can happen after massages. Massages can loosen up bad acids, so I took a couple charcoal capsules since that absorbs toxins. Drank a bottle of water, took a shower, and I feel slightly better, so I guess I just have to wait. On the bright side, I got that replacement gift certificate secured. I made sure to keep it in an orange business envelope and kept that envelope in a bag that I held closed, so it would have to teleport out to escape me. The therapist also invalidated the one I lost so no one can scam a free massage out of her. --- Number of fellow Poets of the Fall fans: 31 Want: Bully 2, Haunted Chocolatier, Okami 2 ...
