Ah now I don't feel as bad missing as many as I am knowing that people are several hundred pack points ahead of me. I did wonder how I was so far behind

started playing about a week ago now, have like 850 cards

still haven't done any general online matches, only a couple with irl friends and mostly just singleplayer which i've been mostly managing with a generic fighting deck for the non-ex reqs and a meme celebi deck since i guess i managed to get two of those three star celebi exes already and figured it was the most free way to get the no ko req from what i had

If you already have Celebis you could try to build the Exeggutor/Celebi deck.

Build around what you have, in this case Celebi.

for context i updated it since then but at the time the deck i had was literally just the two celebis and 18 items/trainer cards so i viewed it as a bit of a shitpost even if it worked

now i'm basically just copying the hard celebi deck from the singleplayer lol (but without exeggutor ex, just the regular ones from mythical island since i don't have any ex ones)

That deck doesn't really work with Mythical Island Exeggutor, the whole idea is that you only need to put one energy on Exeggutor, survive for a long time, and just put every energy onto Celebi after that. Genetic Apex regular Exeggutor would be okay, but having more than 150 HP is a big part of what makes the EX so great

Just making sure you know, despite not being visible on the main screen you can still open Genetic Apex packs. I've seen a lot of people not realize that

Exeggutor ex is busted for sure.

But as long as you have serperior and hopefully Erika, I think you can make due. Not leading with an ex gives you an extra life to wall with, which makes a bigger deal than you'd think

I do recommend having something for the early game. I saw a lot of players using Dhelmise instead of egg ex. I personally used Lilligant to accelerate my heavy hitters

Prior to the most recent release, it worked really well. The only reason I moved on was because it became an auto loss against infernape.

But I haven't seen any infernape recently. Maybe it'll try it out again

i mostly just had regular exegg and serperior put on when i was trying to work out what i could do against the cpu celebi deck in an attempt to deal with them lol (ironically it with serperior felt like one of the better ways to handle ex and celebi (and serperior) while i'm lacking other key options. like i said though it's really just there as a temporary fill until i do get ex)

A little annoyed that Hippopotas and Garchomp are probably my top two Sinnoh Pokemon and the game refuses to give me any despite opening probably twice as many Palkia packs as Dialgas

Garchomp is understandable at least since it's rare but not having at least a Hippopotas just feels like I'm being trolled

It performs extremely well when Manaphy is in my opening hand.

Lmao yeah. I was like you could have at least tossed a Magcargo in to complete the theme! Very unfortunate/hilarious choice to end up as a wonder pick for everyone.

People are passing around a video that appears to be an ad for the new set. It looks believable, but there is one weird detail that makes me question the authenticity: The opponent has a Garchomp EX active, plus a Gabite and a Gible on bench. Unless there's a new card that can get a Pokemon on-board without using its Basic, that would be impossible since you can't have three Gible in your deck.

If it is real, it looks like there's just one pack for the new set. Arceus EX, Garchomp EX, and a fire type Heatran can be seen, as well as Crobat and a metal type Magnemite.

I still need 24 rarity cards (2 1, 7 2, 10 3 and 5 4)from the STS packs, and they are releasing a new set (Triumphant Light) tomorrow. Great. I don't even have many hourglasses saved up for this set.

There are some good cards based on the spoilers I have seen. A lot rely on having Arceus or Arceus Ex though, which seems like it will be quite strong with the right deck.

The free packs are live. Got a Pikachu ex which I didn't have.

Got Ivysaur EX, Zapdos EX and Machamp EX all of which I had already but alas. Only missing 7 cards from Generic Apex in general though so the chances were slim

Do middle line Evos even exists as EX cards in the TCG?
