Imagine if they were actually sincerely applying skepticism. Imagine if they continued to apply that skepticism for their own crank ideas.

Hesitancy may have made sense very early on, and you just wanted to see how the elderly folks reacted to the vaccine (Since they got priority).

But once you saw that the vast majority of them were just fine, that argument didn't fly anymore.

We're now in the period of things like measles, diptheria and chickenpox returning because vaccine rates are dipping below the acceptable herd immunity line.

Oh yeah no, it's fucking awful. There's no reason to 'doubt' the measles vaccine after decades of evidence saying it's effective.

It's the epidemiological version of "why do we have an IT department when our computers always work," just with peoples' lives.

Including their own, but they ain't figuring that part out until they're suffocating in an ICU and begging the nurse for a vaccine that would be too little, too late.
