The normal fights and bosses are fine, but the elites are so incredibly RNG dependent. I may not understand all the intricacies of the card synergies, but if I hadn't had time to get a some stance change cards and I'm stuck in wrath and I get unlucky draws I get so destroyed that even if I make it out I have to rest at a bonfire. Rest! instead of smithing! What nonsense is this!? ... Copied to Clipboard!

I cleared this game once on each character and filed it under "game that's too hard for my impatient self" I just don't have the mental skills to build the correct deck and then use it competently. I basically just YOLO'd on every character until I managed to get a build that could beat the fucking donut boss --- I could see you, but I couldn't hear you You were holding your hat in the breeze Turning away from me In this moment you were stolen... ... I cleared act 3 on the main 3 classes. The watcher, nah. That class is very hard to get going right. I gave up on this after that. Way too much rng. And it does what I feel is a cardinal sin of roguelikes, not having any way to progress after each run. I know they're going for super hard game is hard etc. And yes, there are unlockable cards for getting certain amounts of points. I'm used to games like rogue legacy, hades and others where you can at least upgrade skills, health pool etc after each run. This eventually let's you brute force your way through and not feel like you're wasting your time. Especially given that you can and often will get screwed by the rng and getting terrible cards --- Stand out, fit in ... Copied to Clipboard!

the watcher is by far the best act 1 class. the silent is the worst in act 1. if you are at low ascension levels you can win like 95%+ of the time regardless of class so rng actually isn't a big factor. your spoiler is correct(not throwing shade) ... Copied to Clipboard!

I honestly just avoided the elites as much as possible on my winning runs. It wasn't till I watched others play that I realized people were going for the elites, but just know, you really don't have to go for them at all. id recommend trying to minimize elites and maximize campfires, that's how I did all my winning runs. --- April 15, 2024: The Day the Internet Died ... yea but you don't need any of that (if you just want to win). usually you need like 4 cards and then to delete all the shit cards from your deck. --- April 15, 2024: The Day the Internet Died ... Copied to Clipboard!

PMarth2002 posted... what ascension? When you clear it with a character, you can add an ascension level. Each level makes it harder. The first for example spawns more elite rooms. Clear it with an ascension level activated and you get the next one. Each one adds a new modifier. Some get very brutal and I have no idea how some people do it --- Stand out, fit in ...
