The second Patriots/Rams game wasn't D vs D. It was the old washed Patriots O vs Rams injured O. Neither team could get anything going.

Huh. Apparently the last time the Super Bowl winner had a leading rusher with over 1,000 yards was way back in 2016 with LaGarrette Blount on the Patriots (he actually led the Eagles in rushing the following year too but was well below 1,000 yards that year). In fact...him and Barkely are the only two to break 1,000 yards in the last 10 years. Kinda wild!

First loss at Adelphia, I remember that game too.

The playoff game was rough because if you look at the box score, you wonder how the Titans lost that game. 40 minutes of time of possession, the Ravens had under 150 yards of offense and 6 first downs, augh.

That was our best team in that 5 year run. That almost feels like the one that got away more than the Super Bowl loss because we were the best team in the league that year.

Ive enjoyed that we have reached the part of greatness that the Pats and Nick Saban went through where every single time you have a loss now people rush to declare the era of dominance is over

its been hilarious to me how excited so many people were to declare that Mahomes was no longer in the GOAT conversation as if it was a brave take to have. The whole reason it was even a conversation is that he was trying to do something Brady never did, and that would give him something to hang his hat on as he continued his career and tried to reach Toms totals.

We obviously failed so now we can breathe and see what the next era of Mahomes is like

After 32 years of being a KC fan and with the majority of it being mediocrity, it's a bit surreal that the Chiefs are to a point where they get this level of hate.

A huge part of it is we just got out from under the thumb of Brady in the AFC and we really didn't need to roll right into another dynasty.

It's kind of wild how different the average fan's mindset is from the average talking head, who loves dynasties and dominance

Fans can love dynasties too, or at least they often did historically. The NFL had one dynasty a decade from the 60s to the 90s, and while we obviously weren't around to witness fan reactions first hand, it *seems* like those dynasties were quite liked nationally. Certainly not disliked the way the Patriots/Chiefs are.

I think dynasties are good for drawing in new fans. There's a reason why the four biggest national fanbases are the Packers, Steelers, 49ers, and Cowboys. I don't think longstanding fans like dynasties unless it's their team.

I've also seen more bandwagon Chiefs fans than bandwagon Patriot fans. It's crazy how New England was great for nearly 20 years and are still mostly a regional fanbase because Brady and Belichick were so determined not to let people get to know them and like them.

Because they've still been mostly good during those years. They weren't a dumpster fire almost the entirety of the last 25 years, like, say, Washington.

But there are many Cowboys fans who are teetering on the edge as it becomes increasingly clear Jerry Jones isn't as serious about winning as he claims.

Woo! So glad the Eagles won. I know it's not been that long since our last super bowl win, but it was pretty miserable spending so many years watching my sister's favorite team win super bowl after super bowl, while we kept coming up short (and once against hers in the Super Bowl) Wasn't sure we'd make it back after losing both of our coordinators (of course now we're losing Moore)

But also we watched since then, the Phillies choke a few away, the Sixers choke a few away, the Union choke one away, the Flyers just be miserable, the Eagles lose really late in a Bowl, and heck even the effing Stars nobody remembers but me lose a championship game they should have won due to a QB injury lol

yeah. you have to have dynasties / regular winners for a sport to fluorish. look at the nba right now; it's cratering since lebron and steph have gone from winning all the time to being .500. tennis similar deal. without fed/serena/nadal/djokovic the sport really has no legs to stand on.

What's hurt men's tennis in America is that there hasn't been a great American in the sport in forever

I think that in the NFL (and other team sports) dynasties used to draw fans from all over because there wasn't regional TV coverage of every single team all the time. Now there is, so there isn't as much of a reason to latch onto a team because there is no team that's just on TV more than the others.

I would love to see Rodgers go to the Vikings just for the lolz and because it would follow the exact same career trajectory as Favre: Packers - Jets - Vikings.

It also makes some sense. He would be reunited with running back Aaron Jones, who he worked well with. It would allow their young QB to serve as an understudy under Rodgers. And Rodgers would certainly have the motivation playing in the same division as Green Bay.

With all that being said, it is almost certainly not going to happen, but it would make for a very entertaining season.
