I haven't heard any talk about that game besides it being that part in a million E3 presentations where people used it as a bathroom break cuz it looked so generic >_>

I liked it a lot, but it already got a current-gen patch.

IMO, they're trying to gauge interest in a sequel after they got kickback for pulling the plug on it.

the only thing I know about that game is the developer being a trumper and massive a hole raging at people for not liking his game because their woke or something oh and being a real diva about his character not getting in that crossover game oh and "ride me like you ride your bike" being a ridiculous line

If this can lead to a sequel being greenlit, I guess that's fine. The potential was there, but Days Gone's just held back by some insipid dialogue and tiresome aspects.

Who asks for any of Sony's remasters?

Possibly gauging interest in another game but also it was probably a relatively easy/inexpensive training project for the team. All of these already-in-HD-and-patched-for-current-consoles remakes are basically training projects.

I really....like that game. Feels like youre playing a zombie apocalypse tv series. Also mowing down the hordes is pretty damn fun. Maybe now that we live in a world where many Taylor Sheridan shows are a hit...it could fare better.

game itself wasn't bad tho but felt like it dragged on for too damn long. i didn't even get to finish it cause of that...

Honestly the game is a pretty solid like 7 and Sam Witwer in the lead role gives the character and material more oomph than it deserves.

Too be fair that is actually true.

A female reviewer made it a point to talk about how awful the game was because Deacon was staring at Sarah's ass when they went on a date, as well as a handful of other moments through the game where he expressed desires for his gf/later wife.

It's not really true when it's a single reviewer that talked about that and that definitely wasn't the reason for the sequel being cancelled. Dude was just whining.

I probably should have clarified while that review alone wasn't the reason we didn't get a second game, the review itself actually was real

I like Days Gone but... The fuck is the point of this? Ray tracing tack on or some shit? Game looks fine. Remasters of modern games can go fuck off.

I love Days Gone and was wondering (since it had a PS5 patch) what they'd really add as well. Looks like they're doing a Last of Us II kind of deal with adding permadeath/speedrun modes and the broader accessibility features. For me it's a $10 excuse to play it again, which I don't mind.

I think the game got a lot of unwarranted flack --- particularly from reviewers who got the wrong idea of the game. The game had legit representation from minorities and tries to tell an adult love story. I liked it -- but the dude definitely threw a temper tantrum lol.

Wasn't it kinda crap at launch though? Bugs and shit? They took some time to fix it and add some content and now people consider it a good game? Maybe I'm misremembering.

It definitely had some issues. I fell through the map so many times it wasn't funny. During that timeframe most people just wrote it off.

Some bugs stuck around. The enemy AI is pretty questionable at times. One time my bike got stuck in the ground, and when Deacon managed to get back on he got launched like 50 feet into the air. I need to check later to see if I still have that video.

btw, i recently acquired the PC port on Steam for like dirt cheap since i was curious to see how it performs on my rig.

will this update be offered to those who already own the base game at least?

It's a $10 upgrade IIRC.

Game was trash. I say that as someone who was genuinely very interested.

Days Gone is one of those 7 out of 10 games that I would have loved when I was 14 in the PS2 era. Unfortunately now I'm an adult with access to thousands of good games now and just don't have time for games that are only sort of good.

Yeah, but I guarantee that no one chose to not buy the game based on aspect of the review. It's more likely that the game failed due poor marketing and oversaturation of zombie media at the time the game came out.

Also it was a buggy mess on release. I bought it a couple of years ago on sale, played it, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The characters can be a bit unlikeable at first but I enjoyed the story.

I won't deny this.

People had zombie media burnout, and it was pretty buggy, falling through the map, choppy framerate, etc.

The release was buggy and the PC port still has a couple issues. Perhaps the remaster will fix those

As to the game... it's a big standard Sony Open World game? Like it's fine. The problem being there are at least 7 of those that were released within a pretty short timeframe - and they're all the same in terms of having bad progression and no depth. An entire game of Skyrim radiant quest-style objectives, bandit forts, "find the audio log" and "you're level 20: you can now stealth takedown *two* people and craft one extra healing item from crafting materials"

But like...if you wanna go brain 90% off drive motorbike fight zombie, it does that.

Nah dude, you made a better than average open world zombie game. It deserves an 8 after years of bug fixes and patches.

I remember seeing something similar a few years ago, except whoever was playing got yeeted across the map.

Was pretty funny.

Decent game. Dealing with zombie hordes is the best part but is like 5% of the game, the rest is shooting at humans which isn't as fun.

Playing on pc, the early part of the game where you're in the forest is maybe the best looking game I've ever played. The character models are pretty fugly though.
