One of the resignations was from a member of the Federalist Society who interned for Scalia. You know that's some next level corruption when a Federalist appointee resigns in protest.

Yeah, what are they doing after the resignation? Are they going to help with the grassroots organization? Help start the revolution?

All that means is someone willing to violate any oath Republicans want can eventually fill the spot. But at the same time, what can these people do? Wait and be fired for "cause"? These sort of things are so tough. I don't envy them at all.

I read that them resigning allows them to write a report with all the evidence and provide it to a judge. If they got fired they couldn't.

But any assistant U.S. attorney would know that our laws and traditions do not allow using the prosecutorial power to influence other citizens, much less elected officials, in this way. If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. Strong rumor with credible sourcing: DOJ has put all of public integrity line attorneys in a room and told them they have an hour for someone to choose who will sign motion to dismiss and if nobody does, they will all be fired. The nastiest strong-arming in DOJ history by a long shot.

Resign your office instead of bowing to corruption. The Trump DOJ effectively said they didn't do a good job and do their due diligence when assessing whether bribery of a public official was a crime. If I were a federal prosecutor, I'd do the same. They aren't going to be party to a mafia boss.

But it never was going to be me. I laughed how he said he wasnt going to be involved in any part of this shitshow. The prosecutor that actually does dismiss the case will be forever scorned and ridiculed.
