It's a common thought that Dems aren't doing enough to stop Trump/Republicans, which makes sense after seeing all of the sweeping changes being made in the last month. But what can/should Dem leadership be doing? This is meant to be in good faith btw, I genuinely don't know what they could be doing with the current make up of the federal government.

Nothing besides instigate lawsuits. There's a reason they're doing all this shit in a way that doesn't involve the senate

Lawsuits and the filibuster. Put decent people up for election in midterms.

Regular non elected people can protest, volunteer, stop buying from big business, etc.

I'd make a suggestion but the most effective thing would violate the tos.

Play dirty like the republicans

They're winning a lot of court cases but those aren't as widely covered. If the republicans control the presidency, vice presidency(tiebreaker in senate should Mitch "resist" when it doesnt matter), house and senate there isn't much they can do, but they don't control the courts in the way some people think. Random judges Trump picked last go around from a Heritage Foundation list in some random court aren't just going to roll over for him and give the guy what his team wants. Though, of course the sympathetic supreme court is very much a thing, but not every court in this country just rolls over for him.

This doesn't quite go into huge detail about the court cases they're winning but they touch upon it a little, but overall this is a fairly uplifting video

edit: and yes I know how ignoring a court order is a whole other ball game, and that's either happened or will happen, but some people have this idea nothing is happening, and a lot of it is boring litigation in courtrooms with as much flair as your average C SPAN broadcast. But if we're talking about Mr. Rasking specifically, he ALSO has led the charge at various rallies around DC in resistance to this regime and the changes they want to make.

Dumb down their message so the public can understand.

If we're being realistic, nothing. There's nothing they can do
Winning court cases doesn't mean jack when Trump and Musk will do things anyway knowing nobody will stop them
protesting doesn't mean anything when it'll just be a convenient excuse to declare martial law and seize even more power legally

This is the end of this country as it once was and the beginning of how long before a breaking point is reached and armed internal conflicts break out

Nothing really. They can all vote together, which they probably will on most important votes, but that still requires some degree of Republican infighting to impact anything.

Call for mass action in the streets and strikes, lend all their organizational skills and media contacts to support that.

Even if just Democrats did it, that would be enough.

Voting and courts are not the only forms of politics. The number one thing they have on their side is people, that should be the focus.

Bernie has the right idea. They should all be out on social media every day saying they look forward to working with Trump on his plan to reduce grocery prices and just keep hammering in on the promises he made during the campaign that would actually be good for the country and bring up the fact that he's not addressing those promises every day until he does.

The courts and messaging is their only real avenue. They really don't have much power to actually stop Republicans right now.

This is a terrible idea from Bernie.

Message on the economy, and things doing terrible under Trump is one thing. We should do this non stop given many voted for the economy.

But definitely not Bernies approach which tends to operate on shooting us in the foot, and only being red meat for his base, and gifted material for the GOP to use against us.

Bernie often either:
Tries to be deep or clever to say things that the right can use as a, "see, even Bernie agrees with us."
Or weaponize is words because Bernie will promise something way out there he knows full damn well he can't keep, but is red meat for his base.
Or shoots us in the foot with his all or nothing style of messaging.

Some of his messages also has a horrible habit of resonating or playing coy with the "both sides bad" crowd. The crowd that claims they aren't saying both sides are the same, but have a nasty habit of embracing or defending going 3rd party or staying home if Dems aren't doing "enough."

There is no need to put up optics that Republicans are working to fix the economy at all. Stick with Republicans have tanked the economy.

Nothing legal.

At the moment, I don't think anything beyond what is generally unspeakable.

That said, they definitely have honed in on the conservative brain that responds to fear and stoked it into a flame, combating that in the long term is the ultimate question.

I don't know, it's almost like there is a playbook the GOP used for the entire 8 years of Obama and the 4 years of Biden that they could pull from.

Problem is the MAGA agenda isn't about passing laws it's about destroying the federal government, and obstructing Congress barely matters.
