I really don't understand, how come people use the block button for having different opinions or even for disagreeing?
Shouldn't the block button be used for members that cause trouble or their intention are for trolling?

I usually just ignore people. Blocking to me is more for people who you feel are harassing or seemingly targetting you. I only have 1 person actually blocked

I mostly just ignore people who annoy me. There's like 3 people on my list though, I have a high tolerance for annoyance.

I also have no clue what the difference is between ignored or blocked.

People can use the block button in whatever way they feel gives them the best experience. They don't have to use it for your reasons, and you don't have to use it for theirs.

I don't block or ignore anyone. Well, only in the old fashioned way.

I can explain the difference between ignore and block, here are my example:

• If I add you to ignore, I can't see your topic and post. You can see my topic and post, you can even rely to my topic.
• If I add you to my block list, then we can't see each other topic and post. We can't post in each other topic.

I just block people that I consider to be a waste of time. Makes the boards much better IMO.

There are a lot of toxic people on this site, including harassers, stalkers, doxxers, and imitators, that I don't want to interact with in any way.

I have about 3 people on my ignore list, not enough karma to block unfortunately. There are some insufferable people, I'm not in obligation to see their awful replies and shitposts.

I use the block button liberally.

If I want to ignore someone because I'm sick of their shit, I also don't want that person shitting up topics I make with terrible opinions.

I have 378 blocked accounts on GameFAQs. Yeah. There's a lot of shitheads all around. Call it thin-skinned if you want but if I have the ability to cultivate these boards to a more comfortable experience then I'm going to pull the levers I've been given.

If I hit a point where I see a name and realize they have never had any worthy contribution ever, they get ignored. Block is more for harassment.

Just checked and I have 5 people ignored, 2 of which haven't signed in for over a year so I un-ignored them. Two of them were real shit heads that harassed me like 20 years ago and I won't ever un-ignore them. The third I don't remember but it's been 2 months since they signed in so I may un-ignore them too.

All that to say I never block people. I might temporarily ignore someone just because they are really getting on my nerves and I'd rather not devolve into getting banned or moderated.

The block button is whatever you want it to be.

I don't use it at all. I know some people have me blocked though, lol.

gamefaqs users stay confused about features most places that have posts have.

if you don't want to see someone's posts, you can do something about it or not. you're not this or that if you do or don't do it. it's a feature. use it or don't.

Once you learn the difference between people trolling(posting specifically to piss off others) and actual opinion it gets easier to make a decision- do I want to see this stuff?

Though I haven't blocked somebody in years, after Trump I I had a massive blocked list from 261 of people who just posted shit to piss people off. I took a step back and manually just filter things out with my brain now
