Volleyball was the big sport at my high school for some reason, and I think we might have also had a basketball team. I was only like 5'7" at the time though and a lot of fat on a small frame, so I'm thinking he just wanted a crash test dummy more than an actual player. I didn't really consider the offer but I really wasn't going to do it after one of the seniors was paralyzed on the field. One time for fun I went back and looked at how my school's football team did years after I graduated. I didn't enjoy getting run over by 18 year olds as a 15ish year old with a distance runners body. Plus the weightlifting element to be a decent varsity player didn't appeal to me. In my state there was 7 and 8 level football through the middle schools. In HS there was varsity, jv, and freshman depending on how many kids wanted to play.
