It's likely nostalgia bait, also maybe an attempt to get out to the few retro gamers who like old edutainment. More cynically, both do appeal to children. (Not meant to be a knock) Edit: I need to start watching videos before posting my 2 cents. This looks like a weird fever dream compared to the tv series and game I remembered.
