It was my fault really
Tried to buy something online for a too-good-to-be-true price a little bit ago. Sent 500 via Venmo for it. No response from the seller since.

oh well I like 70% expected this to happen. Just kinda sucks anyway.

I would not spent $500 on a 70% expected scam. That's a bit harsh, hope you don't do it again.

Oof that sucks.

Something similar happened to me last year, but it was only $25 through PayPal on Facebook marketplace. Unfortunately I goofed and didnt send the money as like part of an invoice so they basically told me I was SOL.

But yeah my thought process was if this ends up being a scam then its only $25 no way would I have done that for $500

I got scammed out of $100 awhile back (I want to say sometime last year but it may have been a little before) but I was extremely skeptical in the first place and I just accepted it as a risk I was willing to take.

My dad admonished me for "rewarding" a scammer by not letting my skepticism win out, though. He might be right, I'm not sure how to look at it.

This happened to me once. I was buying a pen. Most placed had it for I think 50-70, but here is a place advertising it for $34.67!!! This is like the only time I have ever been scammed on the internet, but in a lapse of judgement I purchased the item. I paid through paypal i think or some service(not venmo), and didn't think much of it, but when I got a basic invoice from kao shin long hao ni hi lao hwatthefuck in my email I knew I got scammed.

The trick for this is to advertise a killer price, you buy it with your credit card, they get your money, and simply ship out a package with a random item in it to any address in your zip code. That way, when you do a chargeback on your credit card, they find out the merchant did ship it out, IDK, and you get denied the chargeback.

I got ripped off on Ebay for 15-20 bucks in the past. The most notable I never got my FF2 PSP around the holidays. It's just sometimes ya just take a chance.

I accepted my FF2 copy got lost in the mail during the holidays (this was before tracking was everywhere) but oh boy sometimes ppl get fired up. A friend of mine bought some stupid tennis game when I was drunk and then I got this non payer alert b/c I didn't pay for this shitty game in a few days. I forgot he bought it.

I should delete this, but ppl can really care about small potatoes. I'd be upset too if I lost 500 smackers online. But not seven dollars.

eBay always sides with the buyer, but still in this case I called up eBay and was all. I got a non buyer demerit on my account because I didn't pay for it in less than 48 hours. This is ridiculous.
