Investment opportunity? I think it's an investment opportunity.

I thought the whole appeal of crypto is that the government was not involved in anyway. Or is this another case of them wanting them to stay out of it when they rip others off, but go crying for help when they are the ones left holding the bag?

Oh yay, Trumplestiltskin got upset that a woman did a crypto rugpull scam and now has to do it bigger and better.

Bullshit, fraud and enabling of criminal activity. Of course, that describes all crypto, but having this be a Trump scam guarantees all of that shit at 200%.

The government already has a ton of crypto from asset forfeiture. If we're calling that a reserve, then fine. But using tax money to buy crypto is an astoundingly bad idea, even by contemporary standards.

I wasn't saying this was a bad idea compared to how people have historically thought of crypto. I was saying this bad idea is noteworthy for being especially bad, even in our present day environment of numerous bad ideas.

Why?

It has no real utility beyond illegal payments and its only popular as a get-rich-quick scheme. It has exasperated wealth inequality through the abundance of suckers chasing the ghost of early Bitcoin success stories, funding pump-and-dumps without any goods or services being created in the process.
