Another sleepy midwestern town like with raccoon city.

I know it'll be harder to pull off the fairly isolated shit hit the fan and barely anyone can be contacted feel these days what with bioterrorism being this huge global thing in the current resident evil timeline canon alongside that since the RE timeline ages in real time the internet+smart phone use thus information sharing and all that is going to be vastly easier than it was in RE1+RE2+RE3's 1998 setting, but damn man..........I would love to go through it again, lol.

What I really want for a brand new resident evil game in general is having 2 select-able protagonists again just like with RE1 and RE2. Preferably both have no kind of military background thus it will really give off that regular joe in survival mode vibe. (Maybe some hunting experience bare minimum to explain how the main characters have some knowledge about using something like a handgun).

For the scenario I always thought of the 2 protagonists being college students that just happened to be caught in a zomb onslaught during something like a night class and so survival mode starts from there. (Kind of similar setting at the start like the older survival horror game obscure).

Of course the dean or whoever else had connections to umbrella in the past and has now gone rogue, lol. Puzzles and typical RE shenanigans ensue as the 2 protagonists (that split off at this point exploring their own sections) make their way through a infested college campus. The class buildings, around the football field, the student dorms etc. Eventually you make your way through the college town proper, and in typical RE fashion everyone eventually finds out there is a......dun, dun, duuuun, a lab!! that is set-up slightly out of town and behind some waterfall or build into a cave in the woods somewhere or another (its another midwestern town so It'd imagine a wildlife preserve that would be perfect for having a hidden lab somewhere wouldn't be too far off).

This game would wear it's heavy RE1 and RE2 influence on it's sleeve and so it would be real cool if the majority of the monster roster is the old-school BOWs. Hunters, lickers, zombie dogs, crows, giant spiders, giant goddamn BOW black bears, ivys, etc. Guns a plenty, and when you clear the game you get that A and B scenario to see the other half of the plot (and situations where actions with the other character influenced the 2nd playthrough. Taking the extra slot backpacks, taking a certain gun or 2, things like this).

Just a good ol' fun modern over the shoulder 3rd person RE game that has a lot of influence from classic RE. Hell this could even be a 30 year anniversary title thus the reason it has a lot of RE1 and RE2 influence in some of it's design like having 2 protags and a A and B scenario system.

EDIT: Ah, shit, I forgot about alex wesker. Capcom has been sitting on this plot beat for years and so this college scenario would be a good excuse to bring her back via as part of natalia's consciousness as a 24 year old (I think this is how old she'd be if natalia popped up again) at this college w/ her and the dean schemin'

Going to go a different direction, The Hive. If you've seen the first RE movie, you know what place I'm talking about. Even if the film itself wasn't amazing, the concept of the hive is really good. A secluded location where testing is done to either produce or fix the T-Virus.
