I was beating a Level 14 mission while at Level 23 and I was having trouble because in the fight a Level 65 Tyrant kept hopping through the fight on its pathing. >_>

At least because it's a tyrant, the music change can tip you off. Worse when a normal high level joins in from off screen and suddenly your whole team just dies because you didn't notice it lol

Tyrant in Oblivia keeps jumping me right as I'm getting a smaller one down to its last legs ;_;

After Chapter 5, need to do the Nine Lives affinity mission. Then you can unlock more pets by doing rescue missions from the Mission Control board.

So I just did an elbow drop with my Skell and I think I get it now.

That, along with having to traverse a chunk of oblivia to get to the site. Locking you in this is the icing on the cake.

The Tyrant in question is also asleep at night, which makes the quest all too easy.

Yerp, this game is one of the ones that actively has such good visual design that I get lost in it just wondering around. My favorite part is the massive scale of some of the things in each of the continents, giving you a sense of a "WTF is that" until you finally get flight mode and realize that there is paydirt in *everything* you've been seeing.

Naw, that's normal stuff. This game is very much not against you doing fun stuff right out of the gate and doesn't shy at all from letting you do broken things purely because it wants to pretend that it's balanced. I'll not spoil how to do it, but just wait until you stumble onto one of the many "Oh, now I'm immortal" builds. It's a hoot.

Really taking my time here like i did back in the day, and you really get to appreciate the world building. Originally didn't advance the game till every possible quest was done, and compelled to do it again to not be overwhelmed.

Devs didn't get enough credit for this, talked with a female curator, and they tell you where the hardest to find items are encouraging you to take notes. Easy to connect with alot of the npcs in nla, and know alot of them by name.

Can't forget lara nara. lol

Take the time to talk with some randos outside quest. Some have good personality from their relationships with others in the city.

Through out the game there is a woman in the residential district who is not too big on aliens in nla - over the course of the story, she warms up, and even start throwing xeno pool parties. lol

It's been a while since I played the original, but I'm certain some options were cut. Specifically, I decided to recreate my avatar from the original, since I never felt like I gave it the time I wanted, & immediately noticed I couldn't give her the taiji on her forehead.

After getting back into the groove of the game, i remember why i loved it so much. The maps are just really fun to explore, and the game has great atmosphere. The monster designs are honestly the best ive ever seen in a game, and getting into battles and getting a nice chain of soul voices is soooo satisfying

I've been so damn busy these past few weeks that I've only got maybe 3 hours put into this game so far, but that'll change today and tomorrow since I finally have some time for myself (although I do still need to do my taxes).

It was annoying me so much, I actually booted up the WiiU version, just to compare. Everything is mostly the same, except there are notably two extra hair styles for each gender. For female, this is for better Pyra & Mythra cosplays; didn't check the male options as much, but I know one is for Shulk. The biggest change is in the face paint options. A lot of stuff like general mecha style production numbers, cherry blossoms, tomoe, & the taiji got replaced. Otherwise, it's kinda in the menu layout that makes the original feel a little bit longer; the Switch version is a much more streamlined UI, in general.

It sucks, because those a lot of those replaced had a lot of character to them, while a lot of what did replace them, just isn't nearly as good. Though given most of what got replaced is stuff with cultural/religious origins, I'm going to guess that was at the behest of NoA; they seem to have a not insignificant amount of influence for that kind of thing, when it comes to remakes/ports.

Reward tickets. Makes material farming so much easier. Also, only way you could get the Ares 90 in the original. I haven't even passed Chapter 9 in the current version yet, though I hear there's an alternative, which is really useful, since unlike the Wii U, Switch's online is a paywall.

I pretty much finished spending a couple of days planting probes abusing elma's shadowrunner. Think i'll start chapter 4 now.

One of the new arts combos with a new skill to basically do the damage cap every second, which was causing the multiplayer bosses to die within minutes. The devs buffed the boss' HP to compensate, but now the HP is so high that if you aren't using the combo you essentially accomplish nothing. Very disheartening for normal players.

Sounds like EBD (ether blossom dance) on an even "grander" scale.

Oh no, this is way worse. Heck, Blossom Dance wasn't even the best in the original, it was just the easiest one to set up (thermal chaingun only got better with some pretty solid gear, while Ether basically went online once you had a weapon + Core Crusher. This is like if you had ten blossom dances going off every second in addition to whatever your team was doing normally. It is just so much higher it's staggering that they never removed it during development.

Hercules Blow + Knock n' Shock. Hercules Blow is insanely overpowered to the point that it is trivial to hit the damage cap with (which is also what makes this somewhat pointless outside of multiplayer as it alone would one-shot all of the normal enemies) and Knock n' Shock gives an 18% chance to induce Shock on the enemies. Shock causes them to take a % of the damage of the thing that caused the Shock in the first place every second, of which is the maxed out damage from Hercules Blow. You then can also get a second player to use Bahamut Wave to upgrade the Shock up to V to get the full damage, but that is something that really is an "in addition" to the combo and is not necessary unless you want to maximize damage.

That's hard to answer because the answer is entirely based on what you've done. I wouldn't say that there is a single chapter that is even the tiniest bit hard after the skells become a thing, but if you aren't using the skells + don't know what you're doing I can see it being a bit tricky.

I love the fact that everyone levels up equally this time around. I enjoy swapping different characters without having to have Elma and Lin in the party like 90% of the time as with the WiiU version.

I havent even started Chapter 8 yet and all I was doing was casually building up class xp and affinity. Just goofing around with basic and normal missions trying to build up my wardrobe.

Anyone know how the sales of this game have been doing? I can't find any good data on my own.

I have a question for the room. Is there any reason not to deck out my entire party in cool Skells? Really I'm most worried about them blowing up their own Skells and missing the prompt to save them and then having to pay more money on top of the money I already spent. Like I had Liesel running around in a Lv.30 Hraesvelg and she never blew up once, but I want to know how possible it is.
