The President is only supposed to represent at best 34% of the Federal Government power structure. We do not have one supreme ruler who speaks for the entire nation. Trump's power comes from those who bow down to him because they fear loss of their way of life.

Most of the US objectively does not vote one way or the other.

He had the vote of most of the people who voted at the time, probably, by like 1% (discounting the potential for Fuckery because we don't have decisive proof besides Trump and Musk self incriminating constantly)

I do not think that number of votes-for has changed much, but I think we'd get more people turning up to vote against were it done again today

If the people who claims to hate everything Trump is doing voted blue, Harris would have won all the swing states by safe margins and would have flipped several traditional red states

If all the people who didn't vote were Democrat supporters, we would see Trump's poll numbers in the toilet. His poll numbers aren't great, and don't constitute a majority, but they're still high 40s.

In other words, the election pretty accurately reflected the opinions of the country. Which is a really sad commentary.

Impossible to tell. There's currently no real reason to suspect that the population that didn't vote wouldn't roughly have a similar distribution of Trump supporters than the population that didn't vote. The thing is, with the actual voting results being so close it could easily go either way

Fwiw, the latest Gallup polling has him at 45% approval and 51% disapproval.

It's highly along partisan lines with his approval being 93% with Republicans, 4% with Democrats, and 37% with Independents.
