At this point glasses are arguably hotter than no glasses, and contact lenses are a notorious pain. So do people still wear contacts?

I tried contacts for a time a few years ago.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand how people can stand it.

For me personally I would always go for contacts but there are people who look incredible in glasses.

I've never worn contacts, because I've always had extremely sensitive eyes (I even have trouble putting eyedrops in) and I always assumed there was no way I'd ever be able to wear contacts.

I've been wearing glasses for nearly 40 years. By this point they're basically just part of me.

Like others here, I've never worn them; just glasses. And everybody I know who've been wearing contacts still wear them.

I'm scared to try contacts. Don't wanna be poking around in my eyes, on top of some horror stories I've heard involving contacts. Glasses work just fine for me although I have a hard time keeping the lenses from getting scratched up at work

I wear contacts. They are 2 week disposables. I tend to wear them for 2 weeks, then wear glasses for about a week.

Long-time glasses wearer here. The idea of contacts is horrendous. They are unsanitary and it's expensive to have to keep buying them. A good pair of glasses has 100% less health risks and will last you longer than a single pair of contacts. I have no idea why people go for contacts aside from vanity or perhaps convenience (of you have a job where glasses would get in the way).

I wear an ocular prosthesis--that's kinda like an eye contact, yeah? But aside from that, I do wear glasses for my working eye.

I am afraid of contacts because:
-contamination
-contacts getting stuck
-putting them on/taking them off
-counterfeit contacts
-long term damage

No but only because they're way more expensive than glasses even with my insurance. Easier to maintain and you don't have to worry about glasses getting scratched.

I was afraid of contacts at first, and it took a little bit of practice putting them in and taking them out, but they really aren't bad at all. I usually wear my glasses at home and work and wear my contacts when I'm hanging out

Oddly enough, I am 41 (almost 42) and never needed any vision correction. Chalk it up to always using dark themes on computers and sun glasses when outside I guess.

If/when I do need vision correction though, I would 100% get glasses. Ain't no way I am dealing with contacts.

If I still needed them I would. Glasses may look fine but they are super inconvenient, break way too easily, freeze to your face in winter, are something that can dirty and create glares, leave annoying blurry peripheral vision, always have the frames in your vision to distract you at any moment, can get dirty or scratched, they can fall off if active or on an amusement park ride, sun glass add ons are annoying.

It's one thing if you are just sitting at a desk all day, but contacts are too convenient to ignore if you are going to be doing something.

I hear 45 is the common age for reading glasses.

I still wear them occasionally, like if I'm going to a place where I might lose my glasses (theme park). But lately just sticking with glasses. So much easier to just put on my face then pop in the contact. Though when I do put in contact I end up sleeping in them like a month straight.
