Do you like Indiana Jones? Like, really really like it? Then yes it's worth it. If you don't, then no it ain't worth it.

I'm a big fan of the Indiana Jones Trilogy and I absolutely loved it.

I played it on game pass, but I do intend to buy a physical copy of it soon.

I think it's worth it

Reviews are stellar. But Forza is supposed to be stellar too. It is 100% based on which type of game you want.

Its just that licensed games seem to be hit or miss

If you have a PC powerful enough to run it and you're an Indiana Jones fan, I'd say it's worth it.

This is really what it comes down to. I had a blast with it, but the gameplay is pretty shallow. Especially the combat. If you dont care about Indiana Jones, there are better games of this type.

But if you are a big Indy fan like me, it is super fun. Machine games nailed the world of Indiana Jones perfectly. It feels like being in one of the movies. And it is absolutely the best Indy story since Last Crusade.

I played it on Gamepass and stopped playing very quickly. It is very boring.

it looks pretty good. only hangup for me is indy's voice but the gameplay looks decent. ill prolly get it at some point way down the line myself

MachineGames has a solid track record with Youngblood being their weakest link although that game was co-developed with Arkane.

Really? I am not criticizing at all-you are absolutely entitled to your opinion. I just think Baker nailed young Harrison Ford voice perfectly. As the game goes on, it gets harder to believe it isnt Ford.

It's kinda funny that MachineGames went from punching Nazis in Wolfenstein to punching Nazis in Indiana Jones

it might be different in-game, ive only seen the trailer. but from the very first syllable i was like ah fuck is this troy baker

this isnt even a dig at troy or anything. its just when a VA gets ubiquitous enough it does take me out of the immersion a little bit. Troy Baker, Jennifer Hale, Nolan North, Roger Craig Smith

Actual gameplay goes between meh and frustrating.
Story, world, and just inhabiting the idea of Indy are top notch.

I beat it. I really liked it. It's less like Wolfenstein or Uncharted and more like Escape from Butcher Bay, which was developed by Machinegames before they were Machinegames. It's fairly open and has sidequests and upgrades and such.

You get to destroy Nazis

It seems well liked but the idea of playing Indy in first person is just a hurdle I can't see myself getting over.

It switches to 3rd person during cutscenes and the occasional QTE if that helps.

This. I'm not quite done with it, but I really disagree with all the praise it's getting. The vibes are right but there is some truly garbage game design in there.

I wish it had a third person mode or something, but otherwise I just hear nothing but good stuff about it.

I was really looking forward to it but I found it really quite meh.

Story is really good for this kind of game. Voice acting is great. Graphics are nice. Some characters look great but others look pretty fugly.

In general the game just got kind of tedious for me. First person shooter mechanics never really gel with open-ended exploration. The melee combat system is actually quite deep for a fps type game, but that is a pretty low bar when 99% of first person melee games have the horrible "poking a broomstick at a brick wall while endlessly running backwards" style of melee combat copied off of Skyrim.

Wandering around the surface maps punching nazis is fun. Doing short exploration segments where you go into a small tomb and solve a puzzle and are out in five minutes is fun. The really long segments where you stumble around in a long labyrinth are not fun, and they comprise an awful lot of the game. The worst part is that you have to go back into these areas if you want to complete some of the item hunting quests in the game, and you have to go hunting for some tiny object that the map insists is in a room three floors below where it actually is.
