You either have to appoint new judges, which is obviously too long to hold out on, or codify it, which would amp up the single-issue pro-lifers to vote in the next election. So expecting Democrats to do something fairly radical (using legislation to correct something previously left to the judiciary) when they're already struggling to get a comfortable amount of the country on board with the administration in power, is pretty entitled, short-sighted, and honestly just kind of oblivious to US politics in general.

This news sucks but I can only wonder what kind of worse, more impactful shit Republicans would do if they had a more comfortable majority in Congress.
