I don't live in a place with natural disasters, so I have no reason to stockpile stuff
That's not at all the reason it's being recommended.

Tariffs and the resultant price shocks are a natural disaster that impacts everyone no matter where they live.

Hes in Vietnam. Its just his way of reminding you not everyone on this board is in America.

Youre not entirely off there, but it was also genuine curiosity as to why Americans would suddenly feel the need to stock up. Im aware that things are bad there but most of our news coverage isnt about it; so wasnt sure if there was a recent development leading to this panic.

We've just recently received news that our ports are empty due to tariffs, so after current inventories run out we're going to experience shortages on a lot of goods since we don't make anything here. So give it a few more weeks and you'll be seeing news coverage of the US as if we were back in the pandemic.

Jsut about the only shit I buy anymore is perishable.

Ive always tried to stay at least a pack ahead on toilet paper and paper towels, but I've moved away from paper towels for the most part. Only use them for stuff you straight up cannot use towels for. Also found out that those paper napkins that come in like 200 count are useful for what you'd use a paper towel for. I stay well ahead on shampoo, deodorant, etc

But if it came down to it, I'm in the Army and my necessities will always have a way of being covered so I'm not going to sit and worry or stress out about shit beyond my control
