"Often" is a bit of a stretch, but once a month is a good estimate.

It's usually from chains, namely Donato's or Marco's.

You're leaving out frozen pizza, either deliberately or by accident.

That can scale from things like DiGiorno, Tony's, or Red Barron, to stuff like Celeste or Ellios, or things like Stouffer's French Bread pizza.

Also, some grocery stores will pre-make pizza you can buy and cook yourself, which is sort of like making your own, but not really.

And then there's weird edge cases like Bagel Bites.

(And now that I'm thinking about Bagel Bites, that reminds me that there are also potential options for things like making your own mini-pizzas on bagels, or your own mini-pizzas on English muffins.)

I wouldn't. "Chain" is more like an actual place, especially with the examples provided.

It's like the difference between getting fries at McDonalds, buying a bag of Ore-Ida, or actually cutting up and frying potatoes yourself to make fries.

I rarely eat pizza anymore because it feels like too much for me. It gets pretty greasy and messy too and makes me smell like pizza all day. But when I get the urge, I end up getting into it for a while and will get pizzas consistently for a month or two until I get tired of it.

I love making home made pizza bagels. Making the sauce is simple as hell and they're god damned delicious.

Not that often. I order in a couple times a year, and toss frozen ones from the supermarket in the oven as a stopgap if I find myself unable to cook, that may be about monthly.

Its sort of both. If you see the pic in the first post, its not possible to get frozen pizza like that. It is difficult to make your own pizza like that, but possible. I recommend this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDpCzJw2xm4

Its about heating the pizza to a really high temperature which you normally cant do in a regular home oven

If Hotpockets count, I eat those more often--once or twice a week.

Also I would say that of those options "I make my own" is the closest option to frozen. Yes you aren't using your own ingredients, but you also don't need to start from scratch to make your own pizza. For example when I follow that video I posted I usually get the dough from somewhere else because it's a lot faster and easier

I have an iffy relationship with pizza. I go through phases where I eat it every now and then then phases where I don't eat it at all for months. I think most pizza places are foul so I have few places to order from, but they've been going out of business around here, so I haven't eaten it in a good while. Papa Murphy's is good, though. I'd like to start making my own someday but I have other cooking priorities.

I eat it occasionally, for the last 2-3 years it's usually been from Pizza Ranch. But I sometimes get it from Papa Murphy's too.

I almost never get it from a local place or make it myself.

When you think about it, there's probably not a whole lot of difference between "making your own" and popping a frozen pizza in the oven. The only difference is saving time not putting the toppings on yourself.

the difference is two completely different kinds of pizza.

you will actually have a crust with substance, over a normal non-rising type of frozen pizza
