We're just going to take it easy for a couple of weeks in this interlude topic! I'll lock this and make a proper Zopic 6 when all the Season 2 info is out so we can post all the game-changing stuff in the OP.

I tried Team Hugo against the DA Marionettes after the hype in the last topic and wow - he absolutely destroys them! Feels great to have someone that can so reliably take them out besides Miyabi.

Im suffering this Shiyu Defense. Ive got A for stages 5-6 and I cant even survive the second part of stage 7 because I swear they buffed them even further :(

I think the worst designed enemies in the game because of their time waster ult. It's pretty close between them and the jumpy robot for my most disliked. Bringer is pretty bad too but I have the instawin character for that fight.

Yeah, they have so much health and do so much damage. Maybe I need new gear for my teams

I dunno how good my Drives are since I forgot which one shows you whether stuff is SS or whatever

I don't think ZZZ has a relic scorer yet? The Hoyolab app (can't find it on browser weirdly) does have a page where it'll count your good substats and give you a rating, you can also just do this yourself in-game or via your enka profile.

Unlike Genshin and HSR, substats in this game are standardized, they are always the same value on level up instead of having multiple options, which is probably why there's not a real scorer yet. Going by pure number of substats is good enough.

I saw a leak about Eous - he gets to pilot a playable mech suit - so I think he's just sad as that's the default state for anime mech pilots.

Well, the fact that the siblings can dive into Hollows instead of it will surely make it realize that it's getting left out of the main mission to rescue its "mother." Hope they touch upon this so Eous gets more story focus rather than "my adoptive parents are controlling my insides while I sleep."

Caught up on the story. I didn't hate it, but it does feel like a step down in storytelling quality? Which is odd since I think 1.6 was the high point for that so far. I have to assume (or maybe just hope) it's because a large portion of resources was already shifted to 2.0.

Like, I still love all of Hugo's stuff but it wraps up pretty abruptly. Vivian, though...her arc really suffers from being broken up over two patches and told in a really weird order. And also, Yixuan is here for no reason.

Lots of neat stuff, for sure, but Im most excited for the giant mech event because Im hoping thats a test run for SEED.

New leak is saying all the dudes we saw when they were first showing off 2.0 characters are A class. Seed did get changed to she/her in dialogue with Triggers release so its possible Seed is an S class girl, but who knows for sure yet

2.0 looks like an absolute banger, god damn. Big changes to pretty much every aspect of the game. Super excited for this to drop, but agreed that of all the version-specific stuff the mech event has me the most excited - looks so goofy and fun.

I realized that after a bit! I thought the subs would just be built in and not require me to turn closed captioning on. Yeah, 2.0 looks really great and I cant wait.

The pronouns for Seed (and Magus) were translation errors or just where the original Chinese was neutral. Apparently Seed is referred to by male pronouns in Chinese. And hey, Lighter got promoted to S-Class, so who knows. Even if he's A, I'll still try and find a spot for him on one of my teams.

People are sooo paranoid it's another Firefly situation I'd kind of be amazed if MHY did it again on purpose lol. I'm honestly not too worried about lack of male characters overall, it's the China expansion and Hoyo loves to have their one (1) tall Chinese man who inexplicably never stops being relevant.

They've slow-rolled every male S-rank in the game but they've all delivered so SOMEONE on the dev team cares, I just don't expect them to increase the rate or hype them up for sales reasons.

Lighter continues to be one of the best agents in the game and Hugo literally just dropped and is absolutely delicious so I'm not feeling overly worried about quality male representation - just need to accept that they're not going to be consistently hyped as far in advance or release remotely as often as the girls.

It's a little funny because Anby's engine still has more base attack than this and the same impact. This does have an actual passive but because it's purely defensive it is still, arguably, a sidegrade.

Watching some 2.0 footage and uh holy moly the new areas (both City and Hollow) look WAY prettier than I was expecting.

I hope Jane is the next S class character getting buff. I mean she mostly just needs Physical weak bosses to exist, but uh with how the other Hoyo games go Im gonna assume there wont be many of those at all and Physical will be a dead type

Been trying to do some content I've been putting off before 2.0 comes out. Did The Prophecy today finally. It was good! I feel like that was the peak of TV mode and makes me miss it all the more.

The Prophecy is outstanding and absolutely the peak of TV mode with the possible exception of Golden Week. Really wild to imagine how different this game could have been if they had actually stuck to their guns on that mode - whatever you think of it, it's a bummer that all the public negativity ended up making them drop their original vision. Feels like we're about to fully course-correct with Season 2 but the impact it had on Season 1 is undeniable.

Wanna get Ellen geared back up for her buff, what's she running best nowadays?

I hear if you dont have her own W-Engine that Hugos is really good for her. Otherwise Im not sure myself so Im curious to see the answer too since I love Ellen and want her to be better

I don't think anything about her build options is gonna change much. The big thing is she is getting her core skill updated to activate with Stun agents so she can run Astra with Lighter or Trigger (or Jufufu...?), so if you drop Ice agents from the team you switch her from Polar to Woodpecker.

If you're running her with Lighter, Polar is definitely still a must use

Ah I was wondering wtf was up with the new enemy, Tepes, in Shiyu 7. It should be shilling for Hugo (Vlad btw), and it sort of is, but the gimmick is that you need to impair both arms by parrying it to increase its damage. Thing it it counts specific arms so you have to pay attention to which one it's using to attack you, and on Hugo's best team no one actually has the assist point reduction so you only get 3 parries! Weird.

This is also why it's an enormous pain in the ass to fight during the story mode. Whoever on the dev team decided to have a solo Vivian combat section...I just want to talk...

My immediate thought when that dude jumped out was "oh wtf where did this guy come from, is he new?" Legit must have blocked that solo Vivian fight out of my mind, that was such a mess lmao. Enemy himself is pretty cool as a boss!

Its a fun fight. I hear some people use Nicole with Ellen and Lycaon instead of Soukaku? Wonder how that goes

I cant wait for Ellens buffs! Im just like a good 10-15s away from hitting S rank on stage 6 Shiyu that would probably be possible with Ellens buffs if they were already live. Is there any way to skip the phase where he goes invuln waiting to drop lightning on you because skipping that I could get the time clear :/

Thracian? yeah you kill him before that lol

If you don't know, you shouldn't parry him at all (unless you are about to stun) because he will glow and get a stack of his buff that gets him closer to his invuln moves. I'm not too sure of the details but you basically want to avoid doing that until you stun him, and then after the 1st window have a bunch of burst stun ready to go and get the second stun on him ASAP. If it takes more than 2 stuns to kill I don't think you can avoid the lightning ult.

I didnt know that about that fight! That seems like really helpful information.
