Villains that have multiple identities (copycat killers, mantle to be taken up, etc) can be defined as their singular "identity."

The Bela Lugosi Dracula is so iconic it is literally the emoji for vampires. Was nothing like the book version also. He is a horror movie villain so important he changed the entire cultural perception of a creature from folklore until today. He is a lock if there ever was one.

I feel like these are the big 4 in horror. Only other ones I can see an argument for are:

I just don't think you can leave the other 4 off. Ghostface is definitely iconic of the three, but you can't deny the influence of Leatherface, who predates them all. These four changed the face of horror in major ways.
