I just learned this shit I never knew about:

-King Dodongo's fire attack can be interrupted if you shoot your slingshot at him while he's sucking up air
-Gohma is actually stunned longer if you shoot her down from the ceiling instead of on the ground (I thought it was the same amount of time)
-For the Super Cucco minigame from Talon, if you pick up a regular cucco and put it down, you can now see the Z-target icon above it to show that it's a regular cucco that you've already grabbed.
-That warning you get about Morpho's water not being normal isn't from Navi. It's from Ruto. The Japanese text makes it clear that it was Ruto talking when you enter the Water Temple boss room and jump on the pillars
-Dark Link can be freezed with deku nuts and afterwards his AI breaks and he'll no longer attack you

I just learned that there is a business scrub grotto in Lon Lon Ranch.
The only reason I found it was because I was playing the PC port and had draw distance maxed up.

I just assumed it was Navi. How is Ruto talking to you anyway? Isn't she supposed to be dead at that point? Is she just telepathing to your mind with her sage powers or something?

Yeah, probably telepathy. But it does imply that she made it to the boss and died like Darunia, which also suggests it may have happened to the other sages. Nabooru is still a bit confusing though, cause it seems like Twinrova didn't want to kill her

I was always annoyed how Twinrova's blast goes right through Link and hits Nabooru

Like, the cutscene would have been better if he had been positioned off to the side a bit.

I've known this one since the game came out, as a kid I had a much easier tiime shooting her off the ceiling than waiting for an opening when she's on the ground.

This can be inferred from the text being white instead of Navi's usual light blue.

this one is actually a difference between stunning her with slingshot vs stunning with deku nuts. side note but you can knock her off the ceiling with bombchus iirc

You don't remember them during the credits?

I'll add some of my own, relatively normal play / glitch free:

• jump attack with the megaton hammer does not damage gold skultullas
• you can crash the game by using din's fire on the white bubble enemies in the top room of spirit temple
• you can trivially skip a key in the water temple just by knowing saving puts you at the start of the dungeon
• you can slightly less trivially skip another key with just one well-angled jump (there's 6 keys total so you still need a lot of them)
• there's a scarecrow spawn point on the tall rock beside jabu jabu. iirc all that's up there is 2-3 red rupees
• the 4-eye statue in gerudo training grounds has an invisible magic refill above it you can get with the hover boots... that doesn't actually restore your magic (it still puts the item icon over your head though like you collected it)
• there's a pot in child side spirit temple that is coded to drop a deku shield, but is actually empty because the shield actor/icon needs to be specifically loaded into the room for it to work and they forgot to here
• similarly, there's a like like in master quest fire temple that permanently eats your tunic/shield even if you kill it because they forgot to load the actors in its room

If you shoot a fire arrow at the frozen water fall inside Zoras Domain, you can melt all the ice.

Like, the Goron dude went to go fistfight a dragon, the Zora wandered off into a dungeon by herself and disappeared, there's whatever the fuck happened to the Gerudo...

If I remember there's only like one or two that don't have implied deaths.

I also forgot all their names.

bongo bongo has a special animation if you use an ice arrow on one of the hands, where the other hand tries to break it free

the sliding spike traps can be frozen with ice arrows

It kinda makes sense that at least some of them died now that I think about it... I always thought Darunia died at least. More specifically...

-Saria has the body of a child and no weapons and went into a dungeon full of dangers and monsters that want to kill/eat her. She likely died.
-Darunia went to fight a Dragon without the means to win. He almost 100% sure died.
-Ruto...I suspected for a while that was her warning you about the water. Thanks for confirming. Anyway, the fact she seems to be talking to you from nowhere suggests she is ethereal or a ghost or something. Also seems like she died.
-Impa...unlike Saria whose song let's you talk with her and Darunia/Ruto who we encounter in their respective dungeons, all we know is she went into the Shadow Temple and we don't meet her until after Bongo Bongo's death. The Shadow Temple is also particularly perilous. Strong probability she died as well.

The odd one out is Nabooru. After defeating her as an Iron Knuckle, I thought Twinrova took her away to be brainwashed again. After defeating Twinrova...Nabooru is now a Sage. Almost 100% certain she DIDN'T die.

My takeaway is that death doesn't stop you from becoming a Sage, but it isn't strictly a requirement either.

Also, Wind Waker/Twilight Princess establish that Sages can be killed...so that means you can die twice I guess.

Apparently the Ice Arrows would have been gotten earlier at an early stage in development...maybe in the Ice Cavern (more likely) or the Water Temple itself (less likely but also possible)? Iron Boots would have been gotten in the Gerudo Training ground (right before the underwater room). There are some YouTube videos on the subject.

Fun fact. The ice arrows freeze those awful spikes right before the boss door in the water temple.

It's fucking crazy that the ice arrows actually do have some use, but by the time you get them there's literally nothing left to use them on.

Exactly. You dont get them until the last temple in the game. It sucks

idk how you didnt think they got killed give the circumstances you meet them all. Only Nabooru and Rauru are questionable. But iirc some Japan guide confirmed they are all dead.

You don't even need to do sequence breaking for ice arrows really - you just need to use epona to cross the bridge and bring the hookshot + bow from forest temple.

You can't get every key in the training ground but as long as you go left in the maze instead of right you don't need all of them

Can you cross the river of sand with the first hookshot? I thought you needed the longshot or hover boots, but I never really experimented. Even so, you could still leave the Water Temple once you get the longshot and reach the training grounds, that's just awkward.

The training grounds aren't on the other side of the sand, it's in the fortress just across the bridge

I'm fuckin dumb, dude. Also I haven't played it in forever. But I've seen enough of other people playing it to where I still shoulda remembered that.

It's ok I have just played it too much (I probably have played through at least 200 OoT randomizer runs)

• Flare dancers take more damage from the master sword than the biggoron sword. The only other enemy with this property is ganon (pig form)
• The diving game in zora's domain occasionally throws orange rupees that when picked up completely fill your wallet. dunno how this guy makes a profit. this is also weird since other orange rupees in the game only give 200
• Wearing the skull mask prevents keese from aggroing you. Wearing the bunny hood prevents stalchildren from spawning in hyrule field
• For both infinitely spawning overworld enemies (field stalchildren and desert colossus leevers) if you kill enough in a row an extra large one will spawn. If you kill the extra large leever they stop spawning entirely for about a minute
