Don't want to wish her the worst but hope she can find more work or something else as a career. She really did shoot herself in the foot with a lot of dumb statements she said and things she was doing during the strike. Her quitting til they go union when people already found out what their doing was already a seal that she getting replaced for sure. Heck I'm not surprised if she's blacklisted.

Who could have predicted that shitting on the publisher and the player base from an already tenuous position would come with a consequence?

Nothing's confirmed yet. I want Corina gone, tbh, but she is also like a cockroach in terms of resilience.

No other Genshin VA deserves to be replaced nearly as much as her, even the other ones that have been kind of dickish.

But until we ACTUALLY see this reflected in the dub of the game...not celebrating early lol.

I'm glad they've decided to join the other VAs in striking. Hopefully this will apply pressure on HYV and the relevant parties

Paimon is the mascot of the game. Her face basically represents the game. And she has hundreds of hours of dialogue in the game already. They're not going to replace her lightly.

Sure, they might replace her. But I'm not assuming anything without a formal statement. It's definitely too early to start dancing on her grave.

Honestly Hoyo has been more than patient with her various freakouts and I'm shocked she hasn't been fired long ago.

She did. Misled a bunch of people who didn't know the guy lived in Japan (and therefore wasn't/couldn't be a member of SAG) and got them to dogpile him before the truth came out.

They voice the character in a single language, not even in the game's biggest market (which would be its native, China).

It wouldn't really make sense to remove the literal series mascot because one of the people who voices her is a dipshit.

The thing they're omitting is that Hoyo went out of their way to make sure they were paid after a studio was using was actually refusing to pay them

They're just burning every bridge

It amazing how hated and how much of a fuckup they are for the community as a whole to be cheering her departure. They did this to themselves.

It's a little confusing at first, but the gist is that Paimon's voice actor supposedly raised a fuss about Hoyoverse not submitting to SAG-AFTRA's demands and even bullied another voice actor for replacing someone else's role.

They have been playing with fire for the longest time and thus were long overdue to get burned by their carelessness. Besides, Paimon (the character) is annoying af, so Im curious to see if their replacement will be able to tone down the annoying factor with their portrayal of the character.

I'm not gonna comment on the strike stuff because I don't think I'm informed enough to make a fair judgment.

But I'm definitely disappointed to hear about the change. I know Paimon's English voice is, ahem, not exactly popular among the Genshin community, but I've always adored her, so it's gonna be weird and kinda sad hearing a new voice.

All I got from this controversy is that SAG is a monopoly and not a good union and only using AI protections as a front. So many people are quick to judge that all unions = good.

It's also pretty scummy how they encourage their members to apply for non-union projects and then if they get picked go "Surprise! I'm union, and you need to go union if you want me"
