Monolith Soft seems VERY Fast at making their games compared to others

XenoBlade 2 was announced and launched on the same year as the switch release. Apparently the DLC was great to many

XenoBlade 1 DE came out 2 years later + Great DLC

Xeno 3 was announced and launched in the same year, and instead of being delayed, was released EARLY, in the year of many delays. The DLC released within a year and it was great.

XCX released this year + Extra Story DLC area

Xeno 4 is absolutely in the oven right now, and nearing perfection. Expect a trailer by February at he latest

2022-2023 XB3+DLC
2024 XBX

Sounds about right. Maybe late 2026 release. There's a slight chance it could be announced at the end of the year.

Xenoblade Chronicles Musou when?

I don't think there will be a Xenoblade 4. Xenoblade 3 pretty solidly ended the trilogy, and they've pretty well tapped everything they can from that universe's setting and premise. (Trilogy spoilers) Ffs, we got a whole "where are they now" montage showing every character's ultimate happy endings over all three games. That's pretty "definitively closed" to me.

Xenoblade X 2, or a completely different universe with the Xenoblade name, I think is way more likely. And they aren't gonna call it XC4

In a just universe Nintendo would just buy Xenogears rights and they can remake it as a proper full game.

Bring it on, I say. Hopefully it's an X 2 so we can get more mech gameplay, and maybe some space travel considering the flight mechanics of the Hraesvelg. Seemed strange to make a completely different, fleshed out flight mode for one Skell model only.

Fuck, idk what I'll do with the series if they lean harder on Xenoblade X continuity considering I have no interest in the original.

Is it the setting or characters that you're not much of a fan of?

Mira was amazing but I can understand the characters because they're kinda boring. But I do/did like the sci-fi and xeno lore stuff.

The game itself just doesn't appeal to me, I'm not interested in the outright sci-fi setting or the idea of playing as a creatable avatar doing mission-based gameplay.

I love xenoblade, but I kind of hope they do something new

That's fair. I imagine Xenoblade X *might* be their next arc they'll focus on, depending on what the next game is, but I hope they don't completely abandon the story-focused fantasy settings of the original trilogy.

The new story in Xenoblade X DE pretty much nuked any chance of them following X's continuity--maybe literally--as it blatantly tied it back to the main trilogy.

Eh, I'm one who doesn't really believe the planet at the end is the one at the end of Future Redeemed. There's deliberate differences between the two for me to believe this.

True, but at the same time, the two endings overlap rather well, and it wouldn't be the first time this series has introduced retcons (hell, Xenoblade 2 retcons the ending of Xenoblade 1).

Monolithsoft is a first-party Nintendo studio (since 2007), so no, they're Nintendo-exclusive.

Damn.

At least they don't own the rights to Xenogears or Xenosaga.

There's a separate part for the non-Nintendo/Monolith stuff in both Xenoblade 2 and 3's credits iirc.

Namco still owns the rights to Xenosaga, and had to credit them for that cameo in Xenoblade 2, as well as for the references to Xenosaga stuff in Xenoblade 3: Future Redeemed.

Sorry I thought this was about Square/Namco for some reason.

It's kinda wild to me that one franchise is split across 3 publishers.

Xenogears is owned by Square Enix.
Xenosaga is owned by Bandai Namco.
Xenoblade is owned by Nintendo.

Somehow the entire Xeno saga truly imitates it's games in how confusing it is and how people can't keep track lol.

That being said, this does feel probably within the next year that we'll have an announcement of some kind of Xeno thing coming out.

It's kind of hilarious how consistent it is for Xenogears fans to be largely unaware of what happened to Xeno after Gears.

Not like Square Enix and Bandai Namco are actually doing anything with them. Well, Square is pumping out the most random overpriced merchandise imaginable, and Bandai Namco hands out cameos to Nintendo, but that's about it.

Meanwhile Nintendo lets Monolith Soft do whatever the hell they want with Xenoblade.

Legally, it's three franchises that just happened to have the same people behind them.

Personally I'm hoping for a HD2D remake of Xenogears, as long as it's not exclusive to Nintendo.

In addition to this, Xenoblade was originally going to be called "Monado: The Beginning of the World", and was even initially announced and revealed under that title in 2009, and you can even see old game footage from that version of the game by looking up that title; basically, it was going to be wholly separate from the entire Xeno space. It was retitled "Xenoblade" to honor Takahashi's work on the game, but was still its own thing.

It's Xenoblade 2 that started tying it in loosely with the other games with the introduction of the Conduit.
