What exactly is causing Gen Z and Alpha students to struggle even more in academic settings? Are they too comfortable with their devices to properly succeed in a traditional classroom or is the current curriculum too rigorous?

  • Lack of funding for public schools.
  • Lack of support for teachers combined with low pay, resulting in many otherwise-good teachers leaving.
  • Smartphones and social media ruining kids' attention spans.
  • Parents unwilling to take responsibility for their kids' actions.

It's a combination of AI, destroyed attention spans, parents no caring about their kids actions, teachers quitting their jobs, and general apathy from students and teachers.

Technology is not advantage to how their brain is wired to learn. One could argue that the way they learn and the universities are not well in sync. New strategies are needed than conventional methods but colleges are not pressed to change.

I've taught different generations on how to use systems but I needed to learn their methods on learning. Some are more visual learners where others are more about rote memory. Learning is a complex method

Not my Gen Z kids, but I actually parented. Both near the top of their classes.

Learning starts at home. If parents are shit then their kids will be shit students.

AI making it too easy for kids to cheat. I've also heard that students get much less homework these days so they're basically not learning at all if they not hyperfocused during lectures.
