It's incredibly fun but it definitely still feels like a $60 game, lol.

Me and my boi cataquack grinding past the competition.

I've spent hours just driving around in Free Roam.

I played a little bit of it at my friends house. I'm still getting a hang of the wall jump mechanic, but so far it's been pretty fun. Probably not something I would pay $80's for, so for those that got the bundle probably got a good deal.

even if that's true is that 1 game worth the $500? even if DK is great that's still only 2 games in the launch year. basically everything else is on switch 1 or runs better on other systems.

I wish that Grand Prix didn't have the intermission tracks, or at the very least that they didn't count for laps 1 and 2.
The battle Royale mode is fucking awesome, I thought that's what Grand Prix would have been. A continuous super long race where after completing 3 laps, you'd have to drive to the next course.

Knockout Mode is the clear winner. Not being able to do three laps on a course in Grand Prix is garbage

games will continue to come out for the system, not sure why this is hard to understand

It's so much fun! I've unlocked all the costumes, still have a few enemy drivers to unlocks, and unlocked all the vehicles. Now time to start really learning the tracks and beating all the 150cc modes.

Para Biddybud with the R.O.B. H.O.G feels amazing, my goto combo so far. Bowser is fucking fast and will probably dominate TT, but it really sucks if you get hit.

For 80 bucks at this phase, yeah it might not be worth it.

But 50? its pretty good so far and Ive literally only played Knockout Tour so far. I dont play online much anymore beyond the occasional fighting game, so I anticapte this being the ideal 'pick up and play' game mode.

Im in a race within 2 mins from turning on the console and after its over im in the next race in around a minute.

I would go as far as $50, but either way, it's definitely not worth the $80 Nintendo is asking for it. In some ways, it's weaker than the past games, especially with the track design.

Good thing the game is essentially only $50 if you get it bundled with the system. There seem to be many that don't know about this (dunno if you are one of them), which is strange considering Nintendo was pretty upfront about the existence of said bundle from the point they announced the console's release date.

my friend got a switch 2 and I was able to play it. I really really dislike what they did with Grand Prix. Not being able to just do a classic 3 lap race on a course online except for very rare cases is a really bizarre choice.

The spectacle of the intermission tracks is cool, but I just want to do a standard race online and thats really an option a lot of the time

doesn't change anything about the absurdity of the $80 pricetag, or the corporate damage control about how it just offers soooo much content that it must be worth it

anyway, that's not to say i don't like the game, i'm playing it right now, but the only way they make good on the cost is listening to feedback and having regular updates, starting with a dedicated 3-lap mode for online

I did my first online knockout tour tonight, it was so fun. I got 5th place, but it was a rush each time the finish line came up.

I have been maining Bowser Jr. I tried Bowser tonight in Grand Prix and liked him a lot, might try to dick around a bit tomorrow with different builds this game, Ive always played Bowser Jr in Mario Kart 8, or Baby Mario.

And that bundle is just Nintendo capitalizing on the FOMO. After Fall 2025, they'll stop making more of the bundle. So you either buy in early or get stuck paying $80

And Nintendo games hold their price for a long time, so if youre going to buy a Switch 2 or Mario Kart anytime soon its not a bad idea to get the bundle.

*Looking at just how many times that mario kart 8 deluxe bundle for the og switch came back every single holiday season, and nintendo had no actual reason bringing this one back with how successfully the switch 1 was selling.*

I did, and the bundle was actually my first choice. But it seems a lot of people were also aware of this, as the bundle at the store I went to was sold out by the time I got there, so I had no choice but to buy Mario Kart World separately. However, I also had a $30 gift card someone at work had given me but I had not used yet, so I used that to knock that off the price and ended up getting it for $50 anyway.

I was also at Walwart yesterday and saw that while they were sold out of Switch 2 units, they still had a ton of copies of Mario Kart World in stock.

I only have an hour or two in free roam done but it needs some improvements before I get back into it. I need to know how many P blocks are in each region, I need to know how many of those I have gotten so far, and they need to do something with the size and coloring of the mini map. The blocks are pretty small on the mini map, and it's hard to tell the blue it needs done from the silver you did it already.

I find MKW underwhelming for a Mario Kart game. It still fun.

But it takes no real risks.

I think this was the time they should've made Nintendo Kart. Guess we'll see what DLC they add.

Same. I doubt the bundle's gonna be unavailable forever after this Fall. They'll keep bringing it back just like the MK8DX bundle, which made them a ton of money.

Nothing was ignored; it just doesn't make any sense. Why get butthurt about something they are readily offering for 50 bucks if you want it, just because you apparently have the option of paying more for it some other way if you choose to?

If you have the choice to fill your gas tank for 20 bucks at one place or 50 bucks at another (all other factors being equal), I would think most people would just shrug and happily take their twenty and head down to the first place to get their gas -- but it seems Gamers would rather just bitch and moan about how expensive their shit is becoming and how the standalone pricing for MKW is a Harbinger of the End Times or something.

I suppose that's fair enough if you're in a low-stock area, but to be fair, it was pretty clear from the outset that without taking some sort of preparatory action prior to launch, you were not necessarily going to be guaranteed to be able to pick up a console (with or without MKW) at launch, particularly if you limit yourself to just one local storefront. Not sure what you may or may not have done or what alternative sources you had in that regard though.

It was pretty much a hail-mary; I read that Nintendo had provided tons of stock this time and people were just able to walk in and get one, so I decided to check out to a few stores after work to see if I could snag one. Sure enough, I did at the first store I tried.

If I wasn't able to get one, then I would have just waited. Either for Nintendo to finally send that email to me to order directly from them, or until I could get one from a retailer myself.

My issue now is trying to get a large capacity Micro SD Express card. Lexar has 1TB ones, but they're no longer available and even their Amazon page for them has been taken down.

You know what, that's fair. The fact that they mentioned it only being available for a limited time made me think of Super Mario 3D All Stars. But that's a whole different animal.

I feel like you don't go fast enough on straightaway rails to warrant using them. That and many aren't long enough

Inner curve rails and item-carrying rails are good.
