The gist of it is that we have had an enormous slump in the college grad market for the last couple of years (since AI) that has been attributed to AI. It has led to historically low hiring of college grads, to the point that for the first time in human history they are hired below all other experience levels. The article goes into it further by bringing on an expert who expects this to become worse, with >50% of recent grads no longer finding employment in the near future and causing the current poverty level to skyrocket.

To call AI comparable to an atrocity wouldn't be that far off. AI is fun and all, but acting like there isn't material cause for concern at this point requires pretty much a pure willingness to accept that others might die so you can have crappy pitbull pictures.

Quite. AI is, like, five different apocalypses all rolled into one and it's uncertain which one will kill us first. At first I thought its radical increase in pollution was going to win out, but society might collapse before global warming can manage to kill us off. Like, currently AI uses around 5% of the total US electricity and is expected to exponentially grow from there, it's all sorts of fascinating if you are fine understanding that we are essentially participating in the worst event in human history.

Humanity itself.

I really couldn't decide.

Pit bulls are not a real threat to humanity. They are potentially dangerous, and I 100% think we should make it illegal to breed them, but there is no timeline in which they are a real threat to humanity as a whole.

I think AI is going to be a net positive for humanity. Right now companies are using it in a lot of bad ways, but I still think that eventually we'll come out using it to help ourselves in the end. I could be wrong though, and if I am, they do have potential to be a legit threat to humanity.

AI will be the downfall of humanity.

I mean, this is kinda it right here. AI certainly has the potential to be a positive, helpful thing. But humanity itself will ultimately use it for horrible purposes.

Im actually kinda surprised AI is not polling even a bit higher.
