Current Events > Kotohana or Sekai? I'm playing School Days

I have seen the anime, well some of it, and saw the ending and I have heard of the bad endings, and I just started the game. I was wondering if I should just go straight to being with Kotohana and being a good boyfriend or cheat on her? >.> I mean, I'm sure I can probably pick other girls too but I'm not sure if I want to start my first playthrough being a piece of shit haha

also, the anime is the most hilarious **** I've ever seen. the final arc all the way to the end had me rolling

the game has a ton of routes and almost all of them require being at least some level of scumbag. personally I think that's kinda the appeal of the game, the normal person route is sort of boring

I thought of this but lol....hm...and yeah, it's pretty funny, especially at the time. I remember that girl chopping her dad's head off and they had to cut the final episode and I think wait awhile before airing it.

Wow, fuck this dude. Seriously. Fuck Sekai too. On a personal level, she basically sets him up with a girl he likes and then immediately wants him....

It gets better. Pay attention to your wingman.

I played through it twice and chose not to be an asshole.

First time, I went the boring Kotonoha path. Second time, I pushed Makoto to reconsider and choose Sekai and not flip flop about it.

Waiting for someone to post the picture of that extremely screwed up and canon to all those terrible games overflow-verse family tree.

Just finished it recently myself. Went with Kotonoha first, influenced by watching the anime first. Haven't gotten all the routes, but it's certainly an...intriguing game.

Kotonoha, she and her sister are the only ones not related to Makoto in any way.

I remember watching a scene awhile back. Is he the guy who ends up in the library with Kotohana? I was curious how Makoto got cucked haha.

Also, I've had Shiny Days for years and haven't touched it yet. I plan to play it afterwards.

Lol, I thought about that but decided to do a little of both sides for the first time. Mostly because right now, Kotohana has been very off-putting. Hard to get along with. Although, it doesn't help that Sekai pretty much did the worst thing imaginable. Kissing you right after helping you get with a girl you were interested in? Red flag! Red Flag!

(as for the whole family tree/extended canon, I don't plan to play anything after the original so it's not canon to me :relieved:)

I genuinely believe this dude must have been the writer's for all those games self-insert. But yeah this guy and the damn outfit he is wearing is so gross lmao.

I plan to play Shiny Days and School Days, I don't even know much beyond that. I probably won't play anything beyond it but mostly because I'm in the mood for some romance and to see how things play out...well...>_>

I saw three pics which looks like it was him in different eras and that last one looks like someone was making a game and lost track and thought they were making a yaoi or something.

After you play it through blind a couple of times, you're basically going to need a guide to see anything anything else because a ton of the branches that lead to other story paths and most of the endings are super difficult to get. Don't be tricked in to thinking that the couple of paths you see are all there is. Whole chunks of that flowchart you can see of the story just are never reached unless you make specific choices in a specific order.

Also, to the question of this topic specifically, Setsuna.

I still maintain that the School Days authors are masterclass trolls

and yeah, I'll probably get a flow chart after my first time, tbh. I'd like to see everything the game has to offer. I figure some things might branch out like a butterfly effect-esque situation.

It was pretty slow and I feel like the game didn't need an anime because you lose out on the choices that the game gives you. I wasn't a fan of the Utawarerumono for a similar reason.

My ranking is:
Sekai > Otome > Setsuna > Hikari > Kotonoha

But really, you can't go wrong with any of the first 3

Hikari's fine, I guess, but I never really developed any attachment to her
