A lot of people have been tired for way longer than six months.

Social media induced polarization has exacerbated a lot of issues that have been simmering for decades.

To me, it's just the left doing their mostly peaceful protesting again. They do it sometimes, more so where their is a lot of them together. I think it has to do with being inclusive and tolerant and selfless and it helps the environment.

In a few months they'll stop being paid and move on until whatever the new issue rich people deem they should mostly peacefully protest. Just don't look at them or what they are doing ever.

The main thing I am finding is that both were Democrats, if that is the only connection and motivation, that in itself is terrifying.

Sure, many alternative options. Was just wondering about the more "direct" possible motivations, as opposed to reasons where only the public station of the targets mattered and not their identities as persons. If that wording makes sense.

the news in the US is being heavily controlled by the White House. But the idea that the shooter had No Kings written on papers in his car is causing some officials to issue warnings about attending the No Kings protests today across the US

As an America, I don't know and I'm scared. I hate it here. Have for nearly half my life. I really want to leave someday. One of my fears is never being able to.

News reporting is never NOT chaotic here, all of the major news stations are propaganda machines curated to confirm whichever political beliefs they belong to and sometimes(Always if it's a right wing station) fear monger any fence sitters and the people without critical thinking, which is over 90% of Americans.

Social media ruined me. I go on there and it takes me down a rabbit hole of politics. One minute I'm dialed in and believe a certain way for hours then suddenly I snap and go an alternative direction.

It's specifically designed to do so. There's also a lot of actual bad stuff happening that's worth being anxious about, so anyone (*coughPOcough*) coming in here and saying that there aren't any real problems and it's all just social media fearmongering are just straight-up wrong, but social media algorithms explicitly aim to feed you stuff with which you'll engage. Very often, that means stuff the algorithm has figured out will upset you, and that makes everything seem dramatically worse.

Social media exists to keep you on social media. Getting *more* information doesn't actually change anything, just shows you more.

Some info is good and creates growth. Some info is bad and creates decay. The Universe has been distilling good info forever, humans are all "our info is the bestest info", and it's usually highly chaotic.
