Stellar Blade Director Rejects Idea Of Regulating Adult Mods: Once The Game Is Purchased, It Belongs To The User

While some of the worlds more puritanical individuals have found themselves clutching their pearls over the adult mod potential of Stellar Blades PC release, game director Hyung-Tae Kim has no interest in trying to police fans creative interests, as not only does he believe it to be a fools errand, but he is also a strong proponent of customer ownership.

Kim, who also serves as the CEO of Stellar Blade developer ShiftUp, offered his thoughts on the concept of modding, especially as it pertains to Eve:
We dont have any set policy on this. In fact, data modification can range from simply increasing the game speed to completely altering the gameplay itself. As long as its not being abused, I believe mods can play a positive role by expanding the scope and experience of the game. So overall, I view them favorably.

Standing firm, the Shift Up CEO affirmed Stellar Blade is rated for adults only, so I dont think theres a strong justification for regulating such mods."

Realistically, theres no effective way to regulate them anyway, he admitted. As you probably know, mods have never truly been under full control of the developers. Ultimately, its a matter of user freedom. Once a person owns the game, how they choose to enjoy it is entirely up to them.

honestly trying to paint people as angry over adult mods is a bad faith argument as i havent seen anyone mad about it but rather pointing out that its fanbase has no interest in the game other than gooning to eve
you never hear about the story or gameplay because those aspects are mid. even the promos for the game was all "look at the character we made exclusively for you to pleasure yourself to" so when people bring up the mods they arent mad at porn mods in general they are just pointing out that of course its the most popular type of mod due to stellerblade primarily attracting people who dont really view women as people but rather as objects to lust after.

but steller blade is made to appeal to the lowest common denominator who will unironically throw around the phrase woke despite everyone knowing thats just a bigoted dog whistle with the subtly of a foghorn

All of this, yeah.

I actually really enjoyed the combat and parrying/dodging system. And the ost was one of the best of the year for games

unfortunately all you hear about with this game is the sex stuff and the fanbase are frankly weird af.

All joking aside the gameplay is legit fun and was just a solid action game for me. Beautiful graphics ( its a pretty game and a treat for nice TVs or monitors) and great music, which is always nice to have in a video game.

How is the character "hyper sexualized"? From what I can see, she has modest proportions and wears a skin tight suit that you would typically see from a super hero. Certainly not trying to hide the fact that she is a very attractive character but absolutely nothing overly sexualized.

And sure, her beauty can be a selling point for the game but that beauty has more to do with the insane work put in by the developers to make her and the game look good and the advanced resources they used to accomplish making a beautiful game. There is nothing demeaning towards women at all. It is just a work of art.

Some games selling point is stellar gameplay, some is that they are artistic visions, some because they are just beautiful to look at/play. There are very many reasons why a game can be great or even just worth enjoying.

what do the fans of steller blade like about eve as a character

all they talk about is her looks nothing else

what do people like about bayonetta as character

her personality her confident dominating personality the fact she fully owns her sexuality and proudly flaunts it every thign she does she is in control

TBH, we really need better consumer protection laws. A physical game purchase should never be at risk of becoming unplayable because it requires an internet connection to check-in. I'm not sure about the resale of digital games, but you should be able to either sell your game or your account - at least one of the two is clearly your own.

Stellar Blade is a slightly faster souls-like with a story that's beat-for-beat eerily similar to Nier Automata (worse rip-off). The skill/level system is pretty shallow. Eve has some dry humor, but for plot reasons it takes a while for her to get there. The music is great. Eve's hair physics are more distracting than her outfits.

Anyway, this is awesome stuff from the Dev of Stellar Blade. I'll definitely be buying this game, I think.

Just to state, There is nothing wrong with enjoying stellar blade as a game, Its a good game with good music, But lets all be honest they story is incredibly generic and the environmental designs were pretty bland as well for the most part

and Yes, it was dragged into the culture war from the moment it was revealed by the gooner brigade who honestly did not help the game in the eyes of a lot of people, 95% of the social media presence of this game is people obsessing over Eve's ass and breasts, in game photo images of the most generic Goonertastic pictures people can take, so many of the costumes were so over the top on the fanservice that its kinda just pathetic, its the most generic boring type of fanservice, And its worse when Eve as a character herself expresses dislike of being ogled

But as i said, the game is still good, a solid 8/10,

someone should photoshop the director's face onto tron's and have the caption be "i fight for the user!"

I like stellar blade even if its a rip off of Nier automata (a game I adore). I was just playing it the past couple days and its pretty fun. Its kind of like a souls like mixed with DMC where you can do so many different combos and special attacks and parries and dodges.

After seeing numerous practices from game publishers, movie studios, music labels, etc. promoting the idea that they're selling a license to enjoy the media rather than the media itself, hearing this take is wildly refreshing.

Honestly. I had very little intrest in this game. Seems like something that would be "cool" in 2005 when I was a horny teen.

As a horny manchild, I probably still won't play it.

I was going to ask if there really is a puritanical hatred of the game as that hasn't been my experience, but here's a big ignorant post of it.

To specifically answer your questions, the story in Stellar Blade is fine. EVE isn't a very interesting character, but that's not really abnormal for games. You being ignorant about SB's gameplay is just that. Just like I'm ignorant about Bayonetta's gameplay. SB has very good gameplay. I have no clue what Bayonetta's story is about. I've literally never heard anyone talk about Bayonetta's story and have no clue what it's about. The music in SB is insanely good. Something that is definitely talked about on the internet. Never heard anyone talk about Bayo's music.

I doubt it. It was the same studio that made Nikke and that game actually has a some pretty interesting worldbuilding and plot.

The thing is that they don't hide that sex sells and embraced it.

The gameplay is pretty fun, and running around the large open area and engaging in fights is satisfying

I do find it funny that the people complaining about the people only liking the game for looks also refuse to look at anything other than that too

I've never searched for Stellar Blade before but when I do? It mostly is nikke search predictions. Not seeing Asmon on there.
