I have avast and malware bytes but I always hear those are bottom of the barrel quality or just straight up bad/inefficient

I thought Malwarebytes was supposed to be good but my info is probably 10+ years old. So I dunno.

Windows Defender is by far the best. Don't get anything else.

Microsoft Defender is fine with ad-block on for browsers.

Yeah, I almost added in, "Pretty sure if you're on Windows then Microsoft Defender is supposed to be legit" but I dunno what OS you're running.

I guess I vastly underestimated Defender, I have that too but I barely use it

My computer is acting slow lately, while it IS an old piece of crap and maybe its finally showing its age, I figured maybe I caught something, not that I go to weird sites or anything

You can also use HitmanPro for 30 days free to scan and terminate malware.

Be sure to get SpywareBlaster if you don't already have it.

It's not a scanner, instead it creates a blacklist for websites known to send viruses to passively protect you. It's not something you need to actively run, so it's not something that creates conflicts with other software or use up system resources, it's just a nice little layer of extra protection.

Punnyz posted...
I have avast
I would definitely recommend getting rid of Avast, as they've landed up in some pretty big trouble with the FTC for selling users' information.
