They in no way stop you from hitting L1 and using the vehicle quickhack to blow up every single other competitor and then leisurely drive your way to the finish line.

Kinda reminds me of Watchdogs 2 where you have the option to just make the other car swerve in a random direction, including off a cliff or into a wall.

Thus making any chase including police chases, effectively optional

You can do that here too with the Floor It option. Or you can make them hit the Emergency Brake.

But you don't buy/upgrade to the max tier cyberdeck that cuts the cost of vehicle hacks in half to not use the Self-Destruct quickhack.

POV: You're a street racer in Night City and some scrub new merc who calls themselves V entered the race.

Braking works best, yeah. Blowing up the car is just too expensive, but the races are long enough that it evens out.

However, you should definitely blow up Luigi, fuck that guy and his neon shitbox.

I'm full netrunner build and I have the cyberdeck that cuts vehicle hacks in half. So I can Self-Destruct every single other car at the starting line. And sometimes for whatever reason it doesn't work, but I have enough RAM to do it twice lol.

If it works it works.

I'm about 60% sure it has a thing where the racers have a "suggested finish time" sort of thing where even if you do this, you can lose. It's happened to me before.

As an aside, there are a few perks in Int you should either pop a point in at need or avoid altogether.

The one to lower Breach Protocol doesn't need a permanent point, same as the Tech one that gives more options when upgrading cyberware. I usually take the point from the Reflex "quick exit cars" perk and put it back when I'm done. It's not debilitating to any build and you'll remember to put it back after your first 45 mph face-plant.

Also, do not use Feedback Loop. It's glitched, every once in a while you'll Overclock (which you honestly need for high level hacking) and it'll start making your RAM drain constantly instead of regenerate. If you Overclock while that happens it can straight up kill you.

Oh, I looked into it and apparently the bug is that sometimes the buff persists, giving you RAM recovery even when the quickhack has ended. I guess that explains why sometimes I've been able to spam the Memory Wipe/Reboot Optics/Sonic Shock combo and some other times I can't.

I dunno if I really need to min/max that much though, I'm basically obliterating everything as is.

I mean it'll flat out just leave you with zero RAM and no regeneration sometimes.

I'm not advocating minmaxxing, it's just legitimately fucked.

Oh, fucking wait. There was a point over the last couple days where I was playing and just instantly died out of nowhere. I thought I was just missing an enemy somewhere or a mine or something, but I bet it was that bug. I remember I didn't get any feedback from it.

Oh, yeah, I took that point out. The min/maxing was more the stuff like the hacking minigame and stuff. I just cba lol.

You get SO many skill points with Phantom Liberty installed that I was honestly struggling with where to put them.

That's it. Either permanent health drain or RAM drain depending on how it kicks in.
