Well, when they consider anything that is LGTBQ related to be "porn"....

surely you see where this is going right. Yknow, the part in Project 2025 where anything thats porn is illegal and will see jail time/death.
Honestly didnt think of that
another disgusting move in trumps America

going to be fun to see as more and more puritanical laws start getting passed in the U.S, will suck for everybody but maybe that might just break the stupid growing influence the GOP has been gaining on young men if they lose all their gooner games and media

When I applied for a tourist visa to visit a foreign country, I had to (1) scan my passport, (2) take a selfie, then (3) submit my credit card info to pay the fee. The whole process was painless & took about 5 minutes.

I dont understand why this age verification law for adult content is such a big deal. They have to use independent third-party ID verification providers who will then destroy the documents after theyre cleared. Nobodys privacy is being compromised. Among the 20+ states that have implemented similar laws, no data leaks have ever surfaced.

The adult entertainment industry is so against this law because they KNOW a nontrivial portion of their audience consists of underage viewers, and this will hurt their revenues.

Because it's fucking stupid. It's an old solution to a modern problem. There's near infinite "storefronts" and the material isn't physical. So it's not like the only strip club in town denying your access. It's more akin to you have access to a million strip clubs and like only these ones check ids.

First off, the rules are uneven. They only apply to sites where >x% are adult content. The problem is websites like Twitter and Reddit have adult content that dwarf some devoted adult sites, it's just they're so massive that it's <x%. So that's strike 1.

Strike 2 is that VPNs exist and are pathetically easy to set up.

Strike 3 is that there's a plethora of adult websites hosted outside of America. These are quite often more dangerous then the "reputable" American ones that at least try to abide by the laws.

So congrats, you aren't preventing kids from accessing it, but rather making it more difficult for people to access websites that at least try to abide by the rules and sending them to malware infested websites or towards free VPNs (which could also be untrustworthy). Or just to X and Reddit. Hell of a job.
