President Donald Trump continued on Tuesday to float his idea, which some legal experts say is unconstitutional, to deport U.S. citizens who commit crimes.
Speaking to the press during a tour of a migrant detention center in the Florida Everglades, the president repeated claims that there are many immigrants who are now citizens and have been committing serious crimes.

"They're not new to our country. They're old to our country. Many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here, too, if you want to know the truth," he said. "So maybe that will be the next job."

Here's something I would dearly love to do: Force John Roberts and the rest of the Sleazy Six to spend all the rest of their miserable lives writing "I enabled Trump to do lawless act X. The ruling is bad, but that is not actually what they ruled. They ruled that there cannot be nationwide injunctions concerning these EOs, and that these orders need to be contested circuit by circuit (if that is the decision you are thinking of, which I assume it is).

I know how bad it is, as I practice law in federal court almost every day. But it helps fight it if we dont exaggerate.

We have also seen many instances where crime boss Trump violates court orders, but that is not the question at hand. No legal authority who is serious would say this is constitutional. NPR contacted numerous conservative lawyers and think tanks last time he said something similar, and none would back it.

Is it constitutional? Obviously not, to any IL or anyone who just knows anything about the document or law at all. Is there reason to be skeptical that will matter? Absolutely.
